We would appreciate it if you could RSVP by May 15, 2021.
Great question! We are still figuring out all the details on how this will work and we will keep you updated about requirements as we get closer to June. We want to share that we will have a maximum of 70 guests. Our ceremony and reception are both outdoors and we will be thinking outside the box in seating arrangements. We love you all and your health and well-being are of utmost importance to us. Please feel free to reach out if you have concerns or questions that have not been addressed here.
Currently, you will need to wear a mask in common areas around the hotel, restaurants, and wineries/breweries. You will be allowed to unmask once you are seated at a table.
Yes! You would need to call Maglen Resort and tell them you are a guest at our wedding. HOWEVER, if you go to the Maglen Resort website currently, the prices are MUCH cheaper if you are booking online. We recommend you book ASAP to lock in those prices. Check out this blog post about the resort to help you decide which area you would like to stay in. https://www.withlovepaperandwine.com/mexico-wine-trail/maglen-resorts https://www.maglenresort.com/en/ +52 (646)152-1284
We love ALL of your children, however our wedding venue does not allow children under the age of 13. We have decided to make this an adults-only celebration. We hope you understand!
Absolutely, you can even use all debit and credit cards, just make sure to let your bank know you will be traveling out of the US.
Yes, you will definitely need to bring your passport. If you travel a lot, we highly recommend looking into getting Global Entry and adding the SENTRI pass to it. You will receive TSA pre-check for 5 years on all domestic flights and Global Entry when traveling internationally. Membership in the SENTRI program allows you to reduce your wait times at designated ports of entry by using dedicated processing lanes at the Mexico border crossings and Canada by land.
Yes, parking is free onsite.
Valle de Guadalupe has a paved main road, know as the Ruta del Vino (Hwy 3). To access anything (hotel, airbnb, vineyards, food) off of the main road you will be driving on dirt roads.
We hope our wedding will be a fun excuse to wear your favorite cocktail attire! Valle de Guadalupe temperatures range greatly from day to night. Be sure to bring something to cover up with once the sun goes down. Also, there will be some areas of the venue that will be gravel; ladies plan footwear accordingly (flats, wedges or booties will work perfectly).
Ceremony starts at 4pm. There is only seating for 50 people, the rest will be standing room (don't worry, the ceremony will be brief). If you know you want a seat, be sure to arrive early!
Absolutely! Please let us know of any food preferences, restrictions, or allergies as soon as possible.
There will be a open bar, but we ask that if you are staying outside of the hotel blocks that you arrange transportation. Please check out the travel note on hiring drivers.
You should not drink the water out of the tap. All hotels and restaurants serve filtered water and wash their fruit and veggies with filtered water. Your hotels and Airbnb's should provide bottles of water for you. Be sure to brush your teeth using this water and don't drink the water while showering!
The AT&T family plans all have service down in Mexico. If you are outside of that network, please check with your cell service provider.
If you are driving down and using Hwy 1, there are toll booths along the way. Tolls are around $2.00 and there are roughly 2 toll booths. Most of the time they are not in use. There will be volunteers who are protesting the toll roads asking for donations, but you do not have to pay them. You will only have to pay a toll if the gates are down and someone is working out of the tollbooth.
We consciously decided to get married on a Sunday in order to relieve our guests of the stress of crossing the border on a Sunday which can consist of hours of wait times. There are two border crossing options; San Ysidro (Tijuana) or Otay-Mesa. Otay-Mesa is smaller and can be less of a wait time. Tijuana is larger and a more direct way to cross over. Whichever border you choose, Google Maps can help direct you to the border. Just remember to search for the SENTRI lanes if you have Global entry with SENTRI.
Yes! We recommend stopping at Baja-Mex Insurance (181 Willow Rd, San Ysidro) and buying insurance for each day you will be in Mexico. We always fill up gas next door and then drive through and get our insurance. It is about $8 a day.
