It's happening! What a crazy year, right? We were so disappointed to have to postpone our ceremony last year and we have had many discussions about what to do this year. After lots of back and forth, we have decided to have our ceremony this June as planned and we are hoping for the best! As we write this, vaccines are rolling out and numbers are heading in a positive direction. We hope that you are all healthy, safe, and that by June you will be ready to have some fun celebrating with us! Please take any and all precautions to feel safe traveling and spending time with us. We will be taking a COVID test within three days of travelling to Mexico and we would encourage each of you to do the same. We respect each and every one of you and if you decide you would rather not travel we will completely understand your decision and we will celebrate with you in spirit. We understand that your comfort level may change as we get closer to the big weekend, so we have created a place for you to share that you will be waiting under the Wedding RSVP.
If you will no longer be able to attend, you may decline all the events. If you are waiting to make your decision, we completely understand! We do not need your final response until May 5. We ask that you please select "will attend" to the events you would most likely attend if you are able to celebrate with us. For the actual Wedding RSVP, we have included a spot for you to write a note that you are waiting to make your decision. If you are definitely ready to safely party, then go ahead and click those "will attend" buttons!!
Please take a look at Maglen Resort's website and see the measures they are taking to clean and disinfect the rooms and the common areas around the resort. We are encouraged that they are taking guidance from WHO guidelines and are even allowing rooms to sit empty for 24 hours before a guest can check in. Here are some tips on what to expect for travel: -At this time, U.S. citizens ARE permitted to travel into and out of Mexico. -A negative COVID test is NOT required to enter Mexico, but a health screen (like a temperature check) may be administered when crossing the border. -U.S. Citizens are NOT required to quarantine upon entering Mexico. -You do NOT need to show a recent negative COVID test if you are returning to the U.S. by land. You Will be required to show a negative COVID test if you are flying back internationally. We are looking into providing testing for our guests before you depart back to the U.S. We will be updating this section regularly, so please check back.
In June of 2019 we took a trip to Spain and Portugal. On our last night in San Sebastian, Spain, we found ourselves on an empty beach with the lights of the city behind us. Between the various pintxos we had enjoyed, the giant ribeye we had shared, and the Aperol Spritzes that we had poured that night, the moment felt right. Oliver got down on one knee, said some sweet things that Meghan barely heard through her tears (she made him repeat them), and we were engaged. We can't wait to share our happiness with all of you.
Valle de Guadalupe is a world renowned destination for wine and food lovers. Our love of adventure and travel led us down south and we immediately fell in love. We know you will feel the same! The rural charm of Valle means there are limited accommodations. We highly recommend booking your hotel as soon as possible. Check the 'Travel' section to find accommodation suggestions.
