The Wedding Website of Meghan Jones and Joshua Schipp
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

January 5th, 2018 at the very latest. But come on, you know you can do it sooner.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes, we are registered right here at this site. Please click on the Registry tab. Any gift of any kind is welcome; it does not have to be through the registry. We want to stress that our gift is seeing you on our wedding day. For real. (Thank you in advance though for anything to help us make our transition into our new home more comfortable and enjoyable)

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

If you are in the wedding party, please plan to arrive around 1:15pm. The ceremony begins at 3pm promptly, so if you are a guest attending, please plan to be seated by 2:45pm.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, we ask that guests dress in formal wear. Suit jackets and ties for the gentlemen, and formal evening wear for the ladies. Thank you for accommodating this request of the bride & groom.

Question

May I bring a date?

Answer

Yes, guests are encouraged to bring a date (if you are married, please consider asking your spouse first). Also, the little ones are welcomed. Please let us know how many from your group will be joining us as soon as you know so we can keep families together at the dining tables.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Indeed, they are. Kids are people, too.

Question

Hotels & Lodging?

Answer

Yes, we highly recommend you stay with us at the Hotel Blackhawk. Otherwise, there are plenty of hotel options near the Hotel Blackhawk, including the Raddison in Davenport and the Holiday Inn in Downtown Rock Island. Also, there are plenty of casinos near by with nice rooms. I would recommend Jumers in Rock Island.

Question

I have a food allergy, may I make a special request?

Answer

The nut allergy will be contained to a side dish of walnuts for one of the salads. The food will be served up buffet style, and any potential hazards will be identified on the label. Please let us know and we will make the appropriate accommodations.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Parking for the ceremony will be tougher than for the reception. Parking for the ceremony will be on 38th street. Otherwise, there is parking lower campus near Centennial Hall, but that is a bit of a walk to upper campus. Folks will want to coordinate with having drop offs in the upper circle near the Chapel and have those who can walk then park vehicles wherever they can. Please take time to view the ceremony site on google maps to familiarize yourself with the parking areas. Reception parking should not be an issue as the hotel has a parking lot and there is parking on-street and parking ramps nearby.
