Securing a room for Dragon Con is lovingly referred to as the Hunger Games. The con takes place at the Hilton, Hyatt, and Marriott, but there are several other near-by hotels. Here are some resources for finding a room.

This website has a very comprehensive list of hotels in the area with booking links and event discount codes. Please note, many hotels are sold out now but may become open as the event nears and others cancel their plans to attend. Hotels that are further from the event will have the most availability. We have stayed at the Omni before, and it is a nice hotel. It would only be a 15 minute walk or short Uber ride away.

There are two Facebook groups where those who can no longer attend will list their rooms as available to help other attendees get the con rate. Please follow the rules of the groups, keep an eye out for openings, and post your own “reservation takeover” post. Some people in these groups may also be looking for roommates.

Do not book an Airbnb. Due to the popularity of this event, there are a lot of scammers who will try to take advantage of you. Parking at hotels will be limited, and some properties have height restrictions for the vehicles that enter. A cheaper and less limiting alternative is using services like Spot Hero to reserve a surface lot space nearby. Do not plan to drive from event to event. If walking is not an option for you, utilize rideshare services.
