Yes! We are opting for a cash registry, where your generous contributions will help fund our honeymoon, goods for our home, and other activities. Gifts can be processed via Venmo through this website (US guests only) or shared with us on the big day. Thank you!
Many of you have asked us what to wear to our wedding - our response is whatever makes you feel fabulous! However, if you are interested in a bride-endorsed, cultural appropriation-related-guilt-free occasion to sparkle in some Indian attire, we welcome you to do so! Do not worry; all major credit cards are accepted in Montreal, and bank machines are plentiful (you can use your chip-enabled U.S. bank card to get Canadian cash if required). It is recommended, however, that you use a credit card that does not charge foreign transaction fees. The good news is one U.S. dollar is worth $1.30 Canadian - you are rich! It's a great time to treat yourself to some shopping, the spa, or fine dining :)
Montreal has Uber, taxis, and public transit (subway and bus). Plenty of parking will be available at Bakus for the music and mehndi night, but bringing your car is not recommended for the wedding and reception at Auberge Le Saint-Gabriel in Old Montreal.
No! Although drivers and servers will most likely greet you in French, Montreal is a very bilingual city accustomed to tourists. If you let people know you speak English, they will oblige.
We are so glad you are arriving in time to explore the city. We have no plans for that day, but please check out this website's "Things to Do" section for some recommendations. You can also find out more about Montreal at the website below. https://www.mtl.org/en

To attend the official wedding activities, we recommend you arrive in Montreal by the morning of Friday, June 21, and depart on Sunday, June 23. If this is your first trip to Montreal, we encourage you to extend your trip and explore the city! Please note our dates fall on a long weekend in Quebec, so shops and museums may be closed on Monday, June 24. Also, for all our music-loving friends, the incredible Montreal Jazz Festival starts a few days later (June 27 - July 6) if you can stick around.
June is the start of festival season in Montreal, so hotels and Airbnb tend to book up/get expensive. For this reason, we recommend booking as soon as possible! BUDGET-FRIENDLY Sonder is a company that offers affordable apartments to travelers worldwide, and they have eight properties in Montreal. You can book their spaces through Airbnb, Hotels.com, Booking.com, etc., but we have arranged an additional 5% discount if you book directly at Sonder.com (sign up for free to access "member pricing" and use promo code LOSPC5). The downtown, Old Montreal and Griffintown accommodations are closest to our wedding events. Although these apartments are good value (excellent locations at moderate prices), please keep in mind they are not a standard hotel chain and do not offer traditional concierge or front desk services. Additionally, while you can select a rate with a flexible cancellation policy, payment is required when booking. We have reserved a room at the Sonder Maisonneuve location (June 20 -23) and would be happy to have you join us there! See this website's "Hotel" link for more information. MID-RANGE AND HIGH-END The Alt Hotel in the Griffintown neighborhood is well located to explore downtown Montreal, the Lachine Canal, and Old Montreal. It is equal in distance to both the wedding events and offers well-designed rooms at accessible prices. Hotel Monville is in the Quartier International neighborhood, between Old Montreal and downtown. It is a 15-minute walk to the wedding venue and offers modern design at mid-range prices. Finally, there are plenty of luxury hotels in Montreal, but a few boutique options in Old Montreal include Hotel Gault, Nelligan, William Grey, and the Auberge du Vieux Port.
A friendly reminder to our guests traveling from the U.S. that a passport, valid for at least six months beyond travel dates, is required to enter Canada.
