Ray and Meadow met when they both were in high school. Even though they knew each other for a while, they weren't quite sure about each other until about a year after Ray graduated high school in 2017 when they swiped 'yes' on Tinder. After that initial yes to each other Ray and Meadow talked non-stop always mentioning going on a date with each other but never fully committed to it until one day....
Meadow just got done practicing softball with her dad and then all of a sudden her phone started ringing. Ray was on the other side and told her she had 1 hour to get ready before he was picking her up to go on a date with him. An hour later just like Ray promised he was at her door picking her up, they went on a double date with two of their friends to watch Pitch Perfect 3 and go to Olive Garden. The movie and dinner was great. Ray pulled out all of the stops to impress when he tipped our waitress the amount of the bill. This is a tradition that Ray and Meadow have kept up since their first date, every year around Christmas they go somewhere to eat and make sure to tip the amount of the bill.
On New Years Eve, Ray and Meadow spent time together and Ray got to meet Meadow's family for the first time. That night Meadow's grandma Werner needed a ride home so Ray and Meadow decided they would take her. On the ride Meadow's grandma made sure to interegate Ray and in her words "make sure he was a good one". When they finally got to her house Ray walked her to the door and afterwards Meadow gave her a hug goodbye her grandma made sure to whisper in her ear "I approve, he is going to make you happy for a long time". That night on the way back to Meadow's house she couldn't smiling and thinking about what her grandma said so she finally looked at Ray and let him know that he was "definitely going to marry her one day". Ray might've been a little scared but, Meadow must have known what she saw in him.
It was a cold January night and Meadow went over to Ray's house and got to meet his family for the first time. After hanging out for a while Ray walked Meadow out to her car. Right when they were about to hug goodbye, Meadow asked Ray if he was ever going to ask her to be his girlfriend. Ray immediately looked confused and said "I thought you were already my girlfriend?" After laughing about the situation Meadow told Ray that he never asked so she wasn't sure, so obviously in the most romantic way Ray officially asked Meadow to be his girlfriend.
After many memories, traveling, medium-distance, and love Ray finally decided that it was time to ask Meadow to be his wife. It was a Friday the 13th and they had pictures scheduled to be done, that Meadow thought was just 'regular' pictures. That is why Meadow unknowingly stressed Ray out by moving the pictures and in turn the engagement up a week ahead of the original date, because she thought the "leaves would look better". The weather was beautiful and Meadow was excited to get pictures done but couldn't figure out why Ray was so nervous about them. The session at Oak Lodge started off like a normal photo shoot it was a beautiful day, they were posing and having a great time. Until it was time for the 'moment'. Meadow was supposed to be turned around and Ray was going to go up and pick her up from behind, or at least that is what they told her. The picture was taking too long so Meadow turned around twice to see what was going on, Ray was able to both times hide the ring from her. Finally he told her to not turn around again so he could do the photo prompt. Like they say though, third times the charm- Ray ran up to Meadow but never swept her up rather she heard him whisper to her to turn around, when she did he was down on one knee with the ring. She instantly said yes and they shared so many happy tears with each other.
