The dating app hinge, matched us as "most compatible" but dating in the middle of covid lock down wasn't easy. Our first date was at Greenlake park in Seattle, WA where we were told we couldn't have a picnic on a dock and had to "keep it moving". It ended up raining anyway so we got pizza and wine and sat in the back of Sam's Tahoe talking until dark. Six hours later and the best date of our lives, we knew it was something special!
We had just checked in to the Many Glacier Hotel for our 4th of July trip in Glacier National Park. According to Sam, nothing was going according to plan that day. We were late, it was raining and Madison almost blew the cover already a handful of times. We were huddled under the awnings on the back porch having a drink before dinner and Sam knew he had to get creative due to the rain, in order to get Madison down on the beach of the lake where he wanted to propose. So he told her when he was working at the Many Glacier Hotel years ago, he had carved his initials into a rock on the beach and wanted to find it. When he asked Madison if she wanted to go with him to find this rock, she looked up at the rain and said "um... can you bring it up here to show me once you find it?". Finally Sam convinced Madison to venture out into the rain in search for this rock.... that didn't even exist. While Madison is bent over looking and asking questions such as "what color is it, is it big or small, what shape is it?" she noticed Sam wasn't searching for the rock himself. She turned around to exclaim "are you going to help me look for this rock?!" and saw Sam down on one knee with a ring. He asked "did you find the rock? Because I have one here for you". Madison was laughing and crying and of course said "YES!".
