Big and little, roommates, best friends. I could write pages and pages of what mine and Kenzi’s relationship means to me. We met my freshman year of college at Alpha Phi’s sisterhood retreat. She was the leader of the cabin I was assigned to, and I think we were the only ones who enjoyed being in a small cabin in nature. From that day on, I knew we would be best friends. From camping in a teepee to suffering sun poisoning at the beach, we have had some interesting memories. She’s always one to go the extra mile to make everyone laugh (I would list those memories here, but we’ll keep those to ourselves), ha! I’ve also been lucky enough to get to know Nathan and I am so excited for their future together. I love you guys! -Blair

i remember the first time i met mckenzi. i was about 8 and she was almost 16. she immediately became this big, cool, pretty teenager to whom i looked up to. she’s always been there for me throughout the years. she has some of the best advice and has always been able to give me a new outlook on difficult situations. i love you kenz. can’t wait to see what god has in store for you and nathan :)

Met Nathan sophomore year of high school, circa 2010, in science class. Started studying the art of karate with him in his moms driveway shortly there after. Competed in numerous drifting competitions together. Traveled to Ireland together, ran outta money after 10 days. Been one of my best friends since day one!

I’ve had my fair share of adventuring with Kenzi (or Leisha). Our friendship started 11 years ago on the premise “McKenzi brings Maddie out and Maddie reels McKenzi in” In high school we became all kinds of things together: world travelers, AP bio study mates, balcony stalkers (that’s for you Kenz), hippies, youth LEAD grads, and ended our high school days leaving choir (or getting kicked out) to become aids. From there I knew we would be lifelong friends. After high school we went to college in different states. Although time was scarce together when we returned home, we continued where we left off. Leisha, I have delighted in getting to support, love, and watch you blossom into the beautiful woman you are today. I love you sweet sister and I’m praying for you and this next chapter. Shae

I’ve known Kenzi for basically my whole life. We went to the same pre-school and did Tae Kwon Do together during elementary school. Our friendship really began during high school. We played soccer together for all 4 years and the keeper-sweeper bond has stayed tight ever since. We even became roommates our freshman year of college and have stayed friends which is something I’ll cherish forever. I also have Kenzi to thank for telling me all about my future husband which is pretty special. There’s no way I could get married without Kenzi by my side and I can’t wait to stand by her on her special day! -Carol

Nathan and I met our sophomore year of high school, instantly we were like long lost brothers. That year i spent all my summer walking 3 miles to his house so we can go cause some mischief at the pool. Fast forward to freshman year of college we were roommates thankful we didn’t kill each other, through him getting mono then getting hit by a car, I’m surprised he survived that year. Even though I don’t see him as much as we used to, every time we see each other we just pick up right we’re we left off. -Brian

Kenz and I met the first day of high school. From her athletic abilities, to her dedication to school, to her huge heart for those around her, she had it all. Sophomore year brought a new depth to our friendship as we stepped off the plane into El Salvador. There is nothing quite like a mission trip that will instantly change friends into sisters. Kenz, I have witnessed & experienced your love for people and for Jesus that has impacted the lives of so many. I have never met someone so adventurous, courageous, and brave, yet so tender and loving like you sis. You carry the joy of the Lord everywhere you go. I can’t wait to stand by your side as you enter one of the most fruitful, life-giving journey’s. Nathan is the luckiest men and I couldn’t think of a better person for you.

I knew McKenzi would be my best friend when she cried watching a live Koala cam from Australia in the middle of the library. McKenzi is by far the most loving, compassionate, and weird (just like me!) person I know. I am so blessed to have met her in nursing school; there’s just something about suffering through an intense nursing program together that really bonds people. Misery loves company, right? All jokes aside, I love McKenzi and I could not have made it through school without her humor, encouragement, and dedication to studying with me at all hours of the day and night. She’s my best friend, and I am incredibly lucky to stand by her side at her wedding. Nathan is the absolute perfect match for Kenz, and I’ve loved watching their love and relationship mature.
