Tim accepted a job in Utah in the summer of 2021. As he was planning to move, he discovered that his dad's coworker, Emma's uncle, had a sister in Utah who could help with his transition. Emma agreed to introduce Tim to her friends as a "one time thing." The pair didn't meet until a few months later in November, but it quickly became apparent that Tim fit right in with the friend group. Emma and Tim began hanging out in January 2022 by trying the margaritas of the month at Chilis. Tim was patient with Emma as she was completely clueless as to where their friendship was inevitably heading. Tim made it official on April 27, 2022, and they've been inseparable ever since! (And yes, they still love trying the margs of the month)

Tim drove Emma up to Alta Ski Area in the Wasatch Mountains to have a little charcuterie picnic. He surprised her with developed photos from a disposable camera they had been using the entire year prior. After they looked through the photos, they hiked a mile up the mountain to Albion Basin, where the wildflowers were in full bloom. His plan was almost exposed when the spot he scouted was taken by another family taking photos. However, he managed to distract Emma until the spot was open. With the trail finally to themselves, he got down on one knee, and she said yes!
