On Halloween night in Morristown, we both ended up at the only bar in town without a line, George & Martha's. While waiting to get a drink, Morgan started talking to the cute guy next to her about the most realistic Ghostbusters costumes we had both ever seen. (Seriously, they were that good!) This quickly turned to talking about our favorite things: sports and outdoor activities. At the end of the night, we exchanged numbers and started texting and talking regularly. Over the next two years, we kept in touch and tried to see each other when the long distance and our busy schedules allowed. Eventually, we both realized there was a reason why we kept reaching back out to each other - there was definitely still something there. We finally decided to give it a real shot at dating. We made plans that weekend to go to a Rutger's football game and haven't looked back since!
Every year we do a family day around Christmas time to take the littles to see Santa. This past year, the plan was for us all to meet in Morristown to take them to the Christmas Village. Everyone was running late and Morgan didn’t think anything of it. Kyle suggested we get coffee and then walk over toward the green while we waited for everyone to get there. As we walked around, Kyle suggested that we go take a picture in front of the tree. Morgan, still not having any idea what was going on, suggested we just wait for Maggie to get there to take the picture. Kyle rolled his eyes, said no let’s go and we went to get someone to take the picture for us instead. (Morgan is still clueless.) At this point, Kyle turned to Morgan and told her that no one was coming (still clueless) and that he’d played a trick on her. It finally clicked. Kyle got down on one knee, Morgan cried and laughed (but remembered to say YES) and it was the absolute Best. Surprise. Ever! After we called all the family (and friends) who were definitely not coming, we celebrated by ourselves for a bit around town and then met both of our families for dinner.
