A casual order-at-the-counter deli with the best bagels in NC. Our Order: the pastrami, egg, and cheese on an onion bagel.
Think gravy and biscuits! Expect a wait if you are there on the weekend. Our Order: the chicken little.
Your typical American diner. Our Order: the breakfast wrap.
The best burgers in town, with two locations. We go before 5:30 to avoid the wait. The Bride’s Order: the French onion burger with poutine fries. The Groom’s Order: the weekly special.
Located in our favorite area downtown is the best taco place. The Bride’s Order: a Big Truck and a Fixie. The Groom’s Order: a Big Truck and a Messenger.
The name says it all. Whatever you order, make sure to get a side of their Chipotle Ranch.
A casual eatery and bourbon bar with the option to bowl. Our order: the Drunk Goat burger with cheese curds (take your lactaid pills, friends) and a Smoked Old Fashioned.
There’s something on the menu for everyone’s taste and budget. The Bride’s Order: filet mignon tacos or the grilled meatloaf. The Groom’s Order: the pimento cheese bacon burger.
Our go-to for special occasions with a rotating menu. Our Order: the white chocolate-blueberry bread pudding (yes, that’s a dessert).
The place to eat if you want to splurge on a great meal. Maybe one day we’ll be fancy enough to have regular orders here! Also a great brunch spot, which is much more affordable.
A short walk from Southend Brewing, Crafted the Art of the Taco, and Bourbon Bowl.
For our cider-loving friends. Order a flight and try the weird ones, like Spruce Bringsteen (tastes like a Christmas tree).
This is the best spot if you’re craving a slice of cake or a cupcake. The Bride’s Order: pumpkin chocolate chip (year-round). The Groom’s Order: something new every time!
Our favorite spot in GSO for ice cream. The Guilford Courthouse National Military Park is right behind it if you’re taking a stroll. The Bride’s Order: the blueberry cheesecake ice cream. The Groom's Order: the banana split.
Part aquarium, part zoo, part museum. Great if you have kids with you! We still have fun there as adults too.
The GSO Grasshoppers are our minor league baseball team. The stadium is nice and clean, and there is free parking nearby. Keep an eye out for Willie Mae, their bat dog!
Go bowling at The Bourbon Bowl, peruse the unique shops on Elm St., have a glass of wine (or three) at Lewis & Elm, visit The Bride’s favorite shop “Just Be”, play arcade games at Boxcar, satisfy your sweet tooth at Cheesecakes by Alex, learn our history at the International Civil Rights Center & Museum, take a walk in Center City Park, or have a beer at one of our favorite breweries.
These two parks are connected to each other. The former has a lake, paddle boats, playgrounds, a dog park, and access to the Greensboro Science Center. The latter is quieter and great for a long walk. We are here almost every day with Levi.
More places to walk, but these have flowers! They will be beautifully landscaped in September. The former is located very close to the Friendly Center. Don’t forget to check out the bog garden across the street.
Hopefully the weather will cooperate, but if it doesn’t, we recommend two movie theaters. Regal Greensboro Grande (in the Friendly Center) or RED Cinemas (across the street from Mac’s Speed Shop and Pig Pounder Brewery).
You can find The Bride here at least once a week. Dozens of retail stores and places to eat. Take a break from shopping and enjoy a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream in their outdoor seating area.
