For those of you paying for international data or calling plans, the phone number for Casa de las Palapas is (720) 249-2684. This is a U.S. voice-over-internet phone number and should be dialed as you would if you were calling a number in the state of Colorado. The international telephone number, including all codes, is 011 52 322 221 5915. WiFi is available at Casa de las Palapas and if you'd like to reach our cell phones, Justen and Maureen will be using Google Hangouts to text/communicate via WiFi.

Where is Casa de las Palapas?
Answer
Las Palapas is located just south of downtown Puerto Vallarta on the Bay of Banderas. It is located in Taxi Zone 2. Travel south on Cerreterra #200 from the airport. Continue past the hotel zone and through downtown Puerto Vallarta. As you enter town, the highway becomes one-way, Av. Mexico / Paseo Diaz Ordaz. Follow south until it dead ends, requiring a left hand turn (east) at Basillo Badillo. At the stop light, the overhead marker will read Barra de Navidad. Turn right (south) and continue through the Conchas Chinas area and past the Hyatt Ziva Hotel. Las Palapas is the fifth villa on the right after the hotel - Numero 1800. Note: Overhead traffic makers will read Carreterra 200, Barra de Navidad or Mismaloya.

Do you tip in Mexico?

Housekeeping: In Mexico is is customary to tip the maid who cleans your suite. Taxis: Tipping taxis is not necessary - if you give them a tip they will appreciate it; however, the locals and Mexicans never tip the taxi drivers. It is highly recommended that you establish the price of the ride before getting in the cab to avoid an argument or being ripped off once you arrive. Restaurants: Tipping for staff in restaurants is 10-20% depending on the quality of the service.

Casa de las Palapas has a dedicated and stellar staff who look out for the safety of their guests and the house. That said, they would like to be notified when we are hosting guests ahead of time - so just be sure to give us a ring on the house phone at (720) 249-2684 (if you have cell data) , 011 52 322 221 5915 (within Mexico phone number) or via Google Hangouts for Justen (tenharper@gmail.com) or Maureen (halligan.maureen@gmail.com).
