As America’s first city to be designated a UNESCO Capital of Gastronomy, Tucson boasts multiculturally diverse culinary offerings. Tumerico is an icon in Tucson and was one of our favorite restaurants we ate at while living there. Named #1 Best Place to Eat in the US by Yelp, Tumerico offers authentic Latin food made vegan at both of its locations. Other gems to hunt down are Sonoran hotdogs and prickly pear margaritas!
San Xavier del Bac Mission’s nickname — the White Dove of the Desert — is abundantly accurate. Built in the 18th century, the cathedral’s stunning architecture is an amalgamation of Moorish, Byzantine and Mexican influences (!!) And self-guided tours are available daily!
Collection of shipping containers where craft and food vendors have set up if you're interested in supporting small locally owned businesses with a lot of flair.
Don't sleep on Tucson's art scene. Well thought-out exhibits featuring both international artists and regional Southwestern artists, plus some impressive Rodin works
Plenty of gorgeous trails to explore. Our personal favorite is Bear Canyon to Seven Falls, though the photos do not do it justice as the magnitude of scale is hard to comprehend unless witnessed in person!
Unbeatable museum for anyone looking to get an introduction to all-things Sonoran desert
