Things To Do

Planning on staying for the entire weekend or longer? Here are a few places around Georgia within reasonable driving distance that we love!

High Museum of Art

1280 Peachtree Street Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30309

This museum houses more than 16,000 works of art, ranging from classic pieces to contemporary exhibits (Though Simone and Matthew both prefer the classics).

Atlanta Botanical Garden

1345 Piedmont Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30309

More expensive in price, but beautiful in autumn. Over 30 acres to explore!

Atlanta History Center

130 West Paces Ferry Road Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30305

Simone's favorite part is the small farm out back complete with sheep!

Georgia Aquarium

225 Baker Street Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30313

New Englanders will get a good laugh out of their lobster tank exhibit.

World of Coca-Cola

121 Baker Street Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30313

This is a fun place to visit even if you're not the biggest fan of soda!

Piedmont Park & the BeltLine

Atlanta, GA 30309

Why not hop over to a grocery store and pack a picnic like we love to do? Also, don't forget to check out the BeltLine! This is a great area to stroll in autumn or rent bicycles. There are a lot of great food and shopping options along the trail as well.

The Battery Atlanta

800 Battery Avenue Southeast, Atlanta, GA 30339

Although baseball season will be over, this area still has a lot to offer in the off-season!

Buford Highway

Chamblee, GA 30341

This corridor is home to some of our favorite restaurants! Just ask us for a recommendation :)

Buford Dam Park

1200 Saddle Dike #3, Buford, GA 30518

Lake Lanier is home to many fun walking trails - and you can't miss the dam.

Apple Picking in Ellijay

Ellijay, GA 30540

Ellijay is famous for its apple picking in autumn! Many farms in the mountains offer U-pick options, and also include a farm store filled with freshly picked apples, cider, jams and preserves, and apple cider doughnuts and other baked goods. Our favorite farm is B.J. Reece Orchards - though prepare to wait in traffic!

Helen Oktoberfest

Helen, GA 30545

Helen is a quaint mountain town with Bavarian-style buildings at its centre. In addition to trails and vineyards, the last weekend to enjoy Oktoberfest will fall during your stay! German food, live music, keg tapping, and other amusements are yours to enjoy.

Antiquing in Georgia

Just ask your seasoned veteran, Simone, if you would like a list of the best antique stores and malls to explore!

For all the days along the way
