Here are our favorite things that beautiful Buena Vista has to offer.

This is a great spot for a nice scenic drive and hike. There is fishing at the lake, but I couldn't speak on how much you could catch!

Cottonwood Lake

This is a fantastic company to use if you want to ride a horse on a beautiful trail. They offer different lengths and difficulties for riders to accommodate for everyone, even small kids.

Hot Springs Stables

If you make the beautiful winding drive up here, you will be rewarded with stunning views and chipmunks that crawl over you for food. Be sure to drink some water! It is at a higher altitude and can make you get altitude sickness.

St Elmo Ghost Town

This is a nice trail right next to the hotel. Going across the Arkansas, you will have some options of paths to take on your climb to the top. Great trail for a casual hike.

Barbara Whipple Trail

This is a fun option if you want to ride a bike, but you don't feel like peddling. Cruise through some of the local flatter trails that let you see great views of the mountains.

BV eBikes

If you are looking to do some actual mountain biking and need a local rental, this place is your best bet! It is situated right across from the Surf Hotel. $75 for an all day rental, and less if you only rent one after noon.

Black Burro Bikes

Fantastic food! We can't recommend this place enough. Jan's has a good local vibe, and amazing comfort food. You can't go wrong, everything we've had from here has been incredible.

Jan's Restaurant

This is the hotel restaurant, but it is also the best dining restaurant and bar in town. Great bites and drinks with fun twists.

Wesley & Rose Lobby Bar

This is a great little local brewery that brings great Colorado beer to the town. Try the "Hippie Fries", you won't be disappointed!
