Transportation to Ceremony 3 buses will arrive to the Hampton Inn and 1 to the Clarion at 3:00 om to depart for Fort Preble by 3:15. Transportation to Reception The 4 buses will wait at Fort Preble during the ceremony to then bring you all to Bayside Bowl. Buses will begin leaving the ceremony grounds around 4:45.

Shuttle

Shuttle from Reception to Hotels

July 5, 2019 9:30 pm - 12:00 pm

To make sure everyone gets home safely, and when they are ready, two shuttles will run on a loop picking people up from Bayside Bowl and dropping them at the Clarion or Hampton Inn.

Travel Note

Other Transport Options

While in Portland, you'll quickly learn that there is so much to do and a ton of great places to eat, drink, and hangout at any time of day. Keep in mind that all of your favorite ride-share options are available, including city cabs (greencabme.com), Lyft, and Uber. Explore and enjoy without fear of getting lost!

Travel Note

Portland is a hilly city

Please be aware that while utilizing ride share options is fantastic, walking is also the perfect way to get around this small-ish city. It is, however, a very hilly city so we encourage you to bring a comfortable pair of shoes to wear while you explore all that Portland has to offer :c) ...and we hope you will!!

Hotel

Black Elephant Hostel

33 Hampshire Street
Portland, ME 04101
 (207) 712-7062

There are only two traditional characteristics of this youth hostel and they are 1) the number of bunkbeds(!!!) it has available and 2) the warm, welcoming, shared space that encourages community and making new friends. Other than that, this hostel is anything but the purely functional youth hostels you've stayed in while traveling! Everything is brand new and expertly decorated without being fussy. We can't wait to take over the place and make it our home base for our celebration. This accommodation option is best for people over 21 who don't mind a late night. ***If you are interested in staying in the hostel, please email us at: mattanddiana2019@gmail.com***

Hotel

Hampton Inn Portland Downtown - Waterfront

209 Fore Street
Portland, ME 04101
 (207) 775-1454

Location, location, location... This Hampton Inn is about a block away from the Black Elephant Hostel, where we and many of our "wedding party" will be staying. It's a great option that's only steps away from all the action of Old Port- delicious restaurants, cool shops, and the waterfront. This accommodation is best for people who prefer more privacy than a hostel can provide and want to spend a little extra on location during a weekend away.

Flight

Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)

You have two great options for flying in from out of town... If fares are better flying into Boston, we encourage you to take advantage of it! The 2 hour drive from Boston to Portland is pretty painless and also beautiful. You could even win bonus points from Matty if you plane and train (amtrackdowneaster.com)... Take a bus/cab/rideshare from the train station to your accommodations to complete the "planes, trains, and automobiles" trifecta while in ME and Matty's head might explode!

Train

Amtrack Downeaster

City friends and train travel enthusiasts, definitely keep this in mind as an option. With multiple tiered-fare tickets and lots of departure times, this train is convenient and also reasonably priced. Round trip fares could be as little as around $50. (Plus, we all know how much Matty loves public transportation!)

Flight

Portland International Jetport (PWM)

You have two options for flying in from out of town. Boston's Logan airport is a great option but, PWM will get you closer to the action in less time. As an added bonus, the Clarion Hotel and the Hampton Inn have ground transport to and from the hotels for your convenience!...just be sure to check with the front desk to see if you need to schedule a pick up.

Travel Note

Other Accommodation Options

Beyond our suggested accommodations there are plenty of other options around town, if you’d like to explore them. Airbnb.com is a great site with tons of locations in the vacinity... just be sure to book soon as places will book up quickly! Another hotel with incredible character that we’ve enjoyed staying in is the Inn at St John. We don’t have a block there but the prices are reasonable. This inn is best for people with no mobility issues as there is no elevator and the stairs are a bit steep.
