Valentine's Day 2012 was when the future Mr & Mrs first met. It wasn't your usual first encounter, there was no bar, no swiping left or right nor any mutual friends involved. They first met when Matt interviewed Lili for a job! After Lili secured the job (Matt swears it wasn't anything to do with the chest enhancing pink shirt she wore), the pair struck up a friendship, often seen chatting in work or laughing on a work night out. After Matt relocated to Charlotte, the pair kept in contact and fast forward a few years decided maybe there was more to it than friendship. They decided to give the long distance thing a go and spent the next few years counting down to their next trip together. Memories were made in Charlotte, Asheville, Hilton Head, Orlando, Dublin, Budapest, Birmingham, London, Chester, Broadstairs and Las Vegas. It was in Las Vegas in August 2017 while sitting in a casino in the early hours, Lili received a email containing a job contract that would change her life forever. After an unexpected proposition during the work day some weeks before, reality hit as they read the contract and realised it was happening - Lili was moving to Charlotte. In March 2018 Lili packed all of her "worldly" belongings into 5 suitcases, said her emotional goodbyes and headed to Manchester airport to start a new life, filled with wild emotions and excitement about what the future would hold. A few hours later they were reunited and eating a Dominos pizza together in a Charlotte hotel watching Friends. From there, their new life together began along with the dog and 2 cats Matt brought along with him. The next few years flew creating memories, several holidays, new houses, new friendships, another cat, a puppy and several foster kittens. On Christmas Eve 2023, Matt finally caved to the pressure and proposed to Lili at home on a Walmart receipt (that's a story for another day!) When considering what they wanted their wedding day to look like, Matt & Lili realised they wanted to have more than just a day with their family and friends, particularly those half way across the world, hence a destination wedding. The opportunity to spend time with their loved ones in the sunshine with a cocktail in hand was too good to miss, so they hope you will be able to join them as they say "I Do".
