It wouldn't be a big city if there wasn't terrible traffic, made worse by construction, so just a heads up when you are arriving for the weekend!

Exploring Chicago

The Wedding Website of Colleen Haller and Mathias Sigsworth
Chicago is an amazing city all year round, with so options to fill a weekend or a lifetime! Below are a few of our favorites or areas we recommend checking out as a starting point for you! **Just another reminder, the Chicago Marathon will be taking place on Sunday, October 13th, so the city will be full of runners for entire weekend as well. This may cause some places to be busy or have different hours to anticipate the crowds. This may also affect travel Sunday morning if required based on road closures.
Goose Island Brewhouse

Goose Island Brewhouse

1800 North Clybourn Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614

Just one of the many breweries the city offers, and you can never go wrong with a brewery tour if you have the time! Other favorites include: Laguintas, Revolution Brewing, Half Acre. Or check out Malt Row in Ravenswood with numerous breweries within a few miles

Corridor Brewery & Provisions

Corridor Brewery & Provisions

3446 North Southport Avenue, Chicago, IL 60657

One of our favorite places with great beer and some of our favorite pizzas in the city. Also you can check out their parent brewing company, DryHop Brewers in Lakeview East, with similar types of beers, but different options available.

Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder Company

Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder Company

2121 North Clark Street, Chicago, IL 60614

A different take on deep dish that in our opinion won't leave you full for days and is delicious. Just don't forget to bring cash (but they might have finally changed their cash ways after the pandemic)!

Shedd Aquarium and other museums

1200 South DuSable Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60605

One of the many museums in the area that are fun for people of all ages, with some great views of the city to boot!

Lincoln Park Zoo

Lincoln Park Zoo

Chicago, IL 60614

Who doesn't love something free in the city? Walk around the beautiful Lincoln Park with views of the city and many different animals to check out, all for free!

Chicago Riverwalk

Chicago Riverwalk

East Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60601

Great views of the city with many options for boat tours. We recommend one of the architecture tours if you have time!

Lakefront Trail

Lakefront Trail

Lakefront Trail, Chicago, IL

If wanting a relaxing stroll with views of the lake and the city, hop on the Lakefront Trail from various places throughout the city. Or grab a divvy and take the bike path for faster travel and great views.

Fulton Market and West Loop

Fulton Market and West Loop

Chicago, IL

Explore Colleen's old neighborhood! A great area for plenty to do, including eat, drink, shop, have some fun, or just take in one of the most popular areas in the city. Some of our favorites include: Time Out Market, Cabra, and Recess. The Guinness Open Gate Brewery also recently opened in the area and is supposed to be great.
