We absolutely love kids! However, we will love your kids from afar at this event. We want our guests to take the night off from parenting, and really enjoy their time!

Friday: Our Friday dress code is African attire or All White. Saturday: Formal All Black Attire For Men: A Tuxedo, or a Dark Formal Suit For Women: A black floor length dress or gown

What should I expect in a Ghanaian Wedding (Common Questions)

Some of the traditions will occur out of the presence of the guests but traditions include the following some of which the guests may witness: The Knocking Ceremony- The Knocking Ceremony is a charming tradition where Shawn and his family formally ask for Amilca's hand in marriage. They bring symbolic gifts and negotiate with Amilca's family, marking the beginning of the wedding journey. Special Attire- Ghanaian wedding attire is a burst of colors and patterns. The bridal party dazzles in a Kente gowns, and other regal outfits. Each piece tells a story of heritage and identity. Guests are asked to wear African cloth or all white in respect of the tradition. The Libation Ceremony- The Libation Ceremony is a moment to honor ancestors. The couple or an elder pours a symbolic offering, expressing gratitude and seeking blessings for their union. Main Wedding Ceremony- The main ceremony is where vows are exchanged, and blessings are given. It's the heart of the celebration, symbolizing the unity of the couple. The Feast- The feast is a joyous celebration with a mix of Ghanaian and American cuisines. Jollof rice to wedding cake, it's a time to share joy with family and friends. Conclusion- Ghanaian weddings are a beautiful blend of tradition and celebration. Whether you're planning your own or curious about these cultural festivities, they're a testament to love, heritage, and the beauty of diversity. While it is highly encouraged to attend all events, if you are not attending the "White Wedding" (Saturday American Wedding and Reception) for any reason please let us know.
