Lake Garda, or "Lago di Garda" in Italian, is the largest and one of the most well-known lakes in Italy. It is located in Northern Italy, nestled between the regions of Lombardy to the west and Veneto to the east. Lake Garda is known for its crystal-clear waters, and it is surrounded by picturesque mountains and hills, making it a stunning natural attraction. There are numerous charming towns and villages along the shoreline of Lake Garda, each offering its unique character and attractions. Our wedding will take place in Gardone Riviera, which is a small town on the western shore and is known for its stunning lakeside setting and historical charm. The town boasts the Vittoriale degli Italiani, once the home of Italian poet Gabriele D'Annunzio and now a cultural center. Gardone Riviera also offers botanical gardens, a lakeside promenade, and a tranquil atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for relaxation and cultural exploration. The region surrounding Lake Garda is renowned for its cuisine and has 7 Michelin-starred restaurants, one of which is catering our wedding meal! While visiting, you can savor local specialties like freshwater fish, gnocchi, and risotto. The lake's surroundings also have vineyards and olive groves, making it a region known for excellent wine and high-quality olive oil production. In Lake Garda, you'll find a variety of olive oil-based dishes and products, often accompanied by Bardolino or Lugana wine which are popular in the region. You will have a chance to taste local wines during the welcome event! The lake's shoreline is picturesque, with a backdrop of the Alps. Visitors can take boat trips to enjoy the stunning scenery, explore charming islands on the lake, and take in the beauty of the surrounding nature.
