Hi, all! Masks are not required, though you're welcome to wear them if it makes you more comfortable! Thank you all for your patience and understanding through all of our postponements and announcements. We can't wait to celebrate our marriage with you in a safe environment! Take care, Mary
Dylan and Mary met at work at the Museum of Science and Industry. They were friends for about a year before the fateful night they went to a work party, got very competitive at darts, and decided to get dinner together sometime.
Mary had her ring picked out for a little while and Dylan had plans to propose on their 2 year anniversary. However, after a date night out (with an open bar), Dylan just couldn't keep the surprise secret anymore and got down on one knee to ask Mary if she wanted to get married. She said yes! You're invited to their wedding.
There are some updates to this since writing it over a year ago! Below is the original, if you were wondering where we were in 2019 when planning our original wedding. Now in 2021, we are still living in Chicago, still cuddling our sweet dog Bert, and still having many game nights with friends (virtually). We both work for Catherine Cook School, a private school for pre-k through 8th grade in Old Town. Dylan is a middle school science teacher, and Mary is in the preschool. (Written in 2019) Dylan and Mary live in Chicago, IL with their dog, Bert. Dylan is a Facilitator and Mary is a Coordinator of Guest Experiences at the Museum of Science and Industry. They have an awesome group of friends, mischief-makers all, and enjoy going out for karaoke, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and having game nights with them. Dylan is from Destin, Florida and moved to Chicago in 2016. A lot of wonderful family is back in Florida and we love to visit whenever we can. Dylan has a BA in Biological Anthropology from the University of West Florida. Dylan loves to paint miniatures, play with Bert, and has recently fought in a fencing tournament. Mary is from Madison, Wisconsin. She moved to Chicago in 2015. Her family resides in Wisconsin. She has a BA in Communication and Writing from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. She loves to put together puzzles, snuggle Bert, and fuels her love of music by being a member of the Apollo Chorus of Chicago.
