Our story began in Austin, Texas. Laura was running late to physics class. The reason I knew this was because I was on that same bus and going to the same class. One fun fact about us: we are ALWAYS running behind. I recognized her and my first thought was “I bet I can beat her to class”. As a mastermind of the UT Bus system, I did! No one should ever sign up for an 8am class. Sure enough, I spotted her again waiting outside of class. She was wearing an “I ♥ West Campus“ t-shirt. I walked up to her and instead of acting cool, I proceeded to make joke about her shirt. Somehow, she thought I was funny. We exchanged numbers and made plans to “study” together. We mainly hung out and rode our bikes to Taco Bell. This is how we became friends. Life happened, and we continued down our own individual adventure. Seeing her around campus always brought a smile to my face. After three years of friendship, Laura received an email that caught her eye. “Hello Laura, There has been something I have needed to tell you for some time, and I just need to get it off my mind. The best way to do it is just say it. Here it goes: You are lame. Sincerely, TJL” Some might say the greatest pickup line ever. It's no surprise that we started dating, graduated, and moved to Dallas together. This is where we adopted our sweet Pitbull mixed named Minus, A.K.A. “Beefcake”. After a few years in Texas, we packed all our bags into a U-Haul truck and drove to Chicago. We arrived to the city, February 18th, 2019. On arrival, we were greeted with snow. The adventure of adventures had just begun. It wasn’t long after Laura and I moved to Chicago, I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. On October 9th, 2021, back in Austin where our journey began, I proposed. With Leon Bridges playing in the background, she said YES! Laura and I would like to invite you to San Miguel, where we will take each other’s hand in marriage. We hope you will experience a sprinkle of our relationship and get a taste of her Mexican culture.
