Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

March 31, 2023

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kids, and we know you love them. Due to both of us having very large families, we are not able to invite everyone’s children. We appreciate your understanding!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Dress somewhere between business casual and cocktail dress code. We want you to be comfortable as we all celebrate! Watch the weather, and dress accordingly. Maryland in May is predictably unpredictable! The ceremony will be outside in the Garden, the cocktail hour will be in the Orchard Barn and then yard around it, and the reception will be in the Orchard Barn and in a tent. There is no AC, but we will have fans and open sides to the tent for fresh air! All outdoor areas will be grassy, so please wear shoes that will work on grass (maybe avoid the heels :)

Question

What do I need to know about the venue?

Answer

There is parking in the grass as you enter the venue campus. There will be someone directing you when you arrive, so look for a friendly face if you have questions or need a golf cart to get to the ceremony. You will be directed by signs up a hill to the ceremony area. The ceremony will be outside in a Garden area in the yard of the Manor House.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! You will be able to park in the grass field to the left as you enter the venue campus. Look for someone to direct you.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

Your presence is gift enough, however if you are feeling extra generous you can look at our registries on Target and Zola. Both are available under the "Registry" tab on this website.

Question

What is your last name going to be?

Answer

We are excited to share our new last name with you! As we talked through why we loved our own last names, we both realized that our names hold significance in our family and in our communities. Additionally, LGBTQ couples often struggle with taking one or either partner's last name because there has been animosity from family... but we are both incredibly blessed to have been supported by both families from the start. So thank YOU for making it difficult to part with our names! Both of us have worked hard to learn, love, and honor our stories. The good things, the really tough things, the ways we have grown, the ways we have caused pain, the ways we have learned how to love. We are learning the cultures of our families and existing relationships. As we create our own family, we are taking threads from each of our stories and weaving a new tapestry. All of that to say, our new last name will be Weaver.
