Just before you exit the airport, there is a taxi booth called Transporte Terrestre where you can book an official taxi to take you to the city centre. This should cost you roughly 410 pesos ($20 USD) for a private car, or you can join a group car (also called a "collectivo") for 105 pesos ($5 USD) per person.

Oaxaca has daily direct flights from Houston (United Airlines) Dallas (American Airlines) Los Angeles (Volaris), Cancun (Volaris), Santa Lucia, MX (Volaris) and Mexico City (Delta/Aeromexico) meaning it is a one-stop trip for the majority of our guests flying from MIA, BUF, DCA, LAS, CCS NYC or other destinations. There are hourly flights from Mexico City to Oaxaca meaning that connecting through Mexico City could be the most convenient and allow for more flexibility in the event of a disruption.

Small, boutique hotel with a perfect location. The hotel includes free breakfast and two rooftop bars/restaurants. The hotel is louder as it's bars are a popular nightlife venue, but it is located directly across from the main square.

Historic Hotel located near the center and in short walking distance to all events. The hotel has a more rustic feel, but is well appointed with restaurants/bars and beautiful gardens.

Beyond Oaxaca

If you're looking to make a longer vacation out of your trip, there are a number of nearby destinations. Oaxacan Coast: Puerto Escondido or Huatulco are well-known beach destinations in Oaxaca State. Puerto Escondido is very much the future Tulum of Western Mexico with beuatiful beaches and boutique hotels. Mexico City: Mexico City was the #1 destination in 2016 as named by New York Times.
