Hiking and sightseeing

There tons of stunning day hikes and places to see in Sao Miguel. The island is made up of 3 central volcanoes, and three main lakes sit on the craters. We recommend visiting each of them, as well as some beautiful inland waterfalls, hot springs, and geysers.

Whale watching/ swimming with dolphins

One of our favorite things to do in Sao Miguel! You can dive, snorkel, swim with dolphins, or simply watch whales from a safe distance.

Gorreana Tea Factory

One of the only tea plantations in Europe. This plantation and factory has been in the same family for five generations...and because it is an island, of course Margarida is tight with the owner ;)
