Traditionally, Indian weddings tend to be large and span over a couple of days. Although each region of India has its own specific customs, the general concept is the same – it’ll be a Big Fat Indian Wedding, filled with vibrant colors, music, and plenty of food and dancing. Although family members and close friends may have a role, the remainder of the guests are invited to sit back and enjoy.
The dress code for the Sangeet is preferably Indian attire, if you do not have an Indian outfit, feel free to wear what you like, as long as it's a little formal and you can dance in it! For the ceremony, traditional Indian clothing is encouraged but not mandatory. If you would prefer, a suit and formal dress is always acceptable. The dress code for the reception is black tie for men and traditional Indian clothing or gowns for women!

We will be hosting 3 events throughout the weekend: Welcome Party: Sangeet is where the party begins. The word 'Sangeet' translates from Sanskrit to ‘sung together’, and is also used to describe a celebratory event during an Indian wedding. This musical night is a celebration of the union of not only the couple but the bonding of both families. This celebration includes dances performed by relatives and friends of the Bride and Groom and an open dance floor to commemorate the festivities for the following days. We will also have a mehndi/henna station at the Sangeet Night for anyone who wants to apply it! Wedding Day: We will be having a traditional Hindu Ceremony incorporating a few modern elements that signify our union. The wedding day will began with Amar's Baraat where the groom will arrive along with his friends and relatives, who will walk with him while dancing to live music and drums. The bride's friends/family will then welcome the groom's friends/family at the entrance. Reception: Join the newly weds for a night of celebration over cocktails and dancing!
Please RSVP through your invitation card by October 1st, 2023.

During this special moment in our lives, your presence at our wedding is more than enough to make our day. If you would like to honor us with a gift, we are kindly requesting no boxed gifts, which is a familiar Indian wedding custom.
We often say that the best part of an Indian wedding is the food. There will be a wide variety of dishes with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options at each of the events. The food will be served buffet style, so that guests will have the option to choose what they’d like to eat. Please let us know if you have any food restrictions or allergies.
In your spare time, feel free to check out the the amenities at the Vinoy which include a pool, fitness center, spa, access to the marina, golf and tennis. Although we will be providing all meals for our guest, there are some amazing restaurants on-site to check out: Vinoy Club Grill, Pauls Landing, Veranda, and Lottie.
