It all started with Mansi just moving to NYC from South Carolina, a hopeless romantic looking for her ultimate fairy tale. All it took was one look at Amar's Hinge profile where she was googly eyed for him. Of-course Amar, being the gentleman he is, planned an elaborate dinner date to Ferns, which later became a huge part of their love story. Mansi, being the party animal she is, made plans with her friends to bar hop all night hoping to ditch Amar after a few drinks. Little did they both know there was going to be an instant connection and they would spend hours getting to know each other that night. We soon realized that timing is everything. Fast forward to Summer of 2020 where we re-kindled our romance with long walks to Seaport, late night chats, and countless laughs. The rest was history, and Mansi finally found her fairy tale she came in search for.
The weeks leading up the proposal was stressful to plan say the least with Mansi's over curious and questioning personality... she definitely had a feeling, but I did my best to hide it even if it meant get into an argument to avoid the topic! I couldn't let her find the ring or even have the slightest hint. The day started off to celebrate Valentine's in disguise (I told her friends and our families to make sure she dressed up EXTRA), where we walked out our building and a limo was waiting to pick us up (Mansi jokingly said "imagine that's ours" and I said "let's get in"). This came as no surprise cause the year before for Valentine's we got a limo after we went out spontaneously! I had the driver take us to, you guessed it, Ferns where our first date was. We enjoyed a meal and some drinks reminiscing about our first date. After Ferns, our driver took us around some more where the big surprise was... a helicopter ride across NYC! Luckily, my photographer was able to sneak on board and photograph the moments. Mansi kept popping her head out looking for a marry me sign, but by the time we landed and the photographer left (to go to the next spot of course), she felt that it wasn't going to happen that day. I told her lets go to our favorite spot, Seaport, to grab some drinks and enjoy the evening. I had called both our families to make sure they were at Seaport on the rooftop to get a view of the proposal. Of course my family was late so I had to stall a bit. We finally reached Seaport where there was a big red heart statue, where my sisters set up a marry me sign and had our favorite song, I Like Me Better by Lauv, playing. I got on my knee for the happiest moment of my life and Mansi was beyond surprised and shocked and immediately started crying. After that moment, I mumbled a ton of words and asked the girl of my dreams to marry me. Of course she said yes as you wouldn't be on this site now. But I couldn't have been more happy to know I will have my favorite person in the entire universe and my best friend are taking the step to happily ever after forever.
