Ventura Pier

Walk from the hotel to the pier, about 1.5 miles. There's a fantastic taco spot (Beach House Tacos) as well as a local favorite (Madewest Brewery) located on the pier. If you continue walking the promenade after the pier, you will walk by Ventura surfer's favorite spot, Surfer's Point.

Downtown Ventura

Great area for shopping, bars, restaurants, etc. Highly recommend wandering down Main Street!

Ventura Harbor Village

Shop, walk around, or check out favorite dining spots like Brophy Bros., Margarita Villa, Baja Bay Surf N' Taco or Coastal Cone. You can also take a boat out to Anacapa island through Island Packers which leaves from the Ventura Harbor (requires purchase in advance).

Ventura Botanical Gardens, Inc

Great for a hike with beautiful views of Ventura from the hills. In high school, Mallory would always drive up here with friends to park at "The Cross" and look out over Ventura for the stunning views. This is one of the best views of Ventura from the pier to Oxnard.

Rumfish y Vino

Delicious seafood restaurant in Ventura's downtown with great drinks. After dinner, walk around Main Street and try a few bars!

Lure Fish House

Sean & Mallory went for a date night here in 2021. Great ambiance and even better food. Ahi Tuna and oysters were our favorite here!

Snapper Jack's Taco Shack

MadeWest Brewing Company - Ventura Pier

Fluid State Beer Garden

Cute beer garden at the top of Main Street right before wandering downtown. This is a great first stop on your walk down Main Street to explore other bars, restaurants and shops!

Topa Topa Brewing Company

There is also a local Ventura option, their beer is excellent! Lovely brewery in beautiful Ojai, CA. This brewery is right on the main street downtown in Ojai, so this is a great spot to walk around and enjoy all Ojai has to offer!

Rincon Brewery Ventura

Another great local brewery in Ventura. They have a big space and restaurant, a great spot to try for lunch!

Topa Mountain Winery

Mallory and Sean went here plenty of times with Mallory's parents! This is a great place where you can bring in your own snacks (if you prefer!) and enjoy delicious wine and beautiful scenery in Ojai.

Take a trip north to Santa Barbara and explore the outdoor shopping and dining State Street offers.

Ventura Local Beaches - Solimar, Mondo's, Tanks

Local beaches are where you can find Ventura locals all summer long! Our favorite for the past few years is Tanks, but Solimar and Mondo's are also great. Just take the 101 about 10 minutes north and get off at "State Beaches" exit 72. The first beach is Solimar, then Mondo's then Tanks. Tanks can be spotted by a big tank surrounded by a fence and there's a staircase to the left of the tank if you are facing the water.

Social Tap Ventura

Walkable from the Marriott! Go to Pierpont (towards the beach) and walk to Seaward. Great bar/food and close to hotel.

San Pedro Beach

Local beach within walking distance of the Marriott hotel, this was a favorite for Mallory and her friends throughout high school! Volleyball courts next to the beach and the In-N-Out closeby.

Café Nouveau

Favorite breakfast place! They don’t take reservations and there may be a line, but very cute and great food.

Corrales Mexican Food

Mallory's favorite local Mexican food with great to-go burritos!

Rice by Mama

Best Avocado Curry around! Sean & Mallory's favorite Thai food place, another great option to carry out.
