Bumble! (aka Online Dating!) He was looking for a short Texan doctor! She was looking for an artistic Marine with an adorable dog! Not really…but we both swiped right! Madeline couldn’t resist Francis’ amazing dental lab (what?), Marine spirit, or Marcus (The Dog)! Francis couldn’t resist Madeline’s smart mouth, competitive spirit, or karaoke skills! They say that opposites attract, and there couldn’t be a better type A matched with a better type B! We first met in person for a day-date on 2.20.2016 at the East Flats in Cleveland, Ohio. We bounced around a few places, then Madeline had to leave to take care of Sarah’s cat (riiiight….it’s true though!), and the date was over. That was until Francis called Madeline to meet back out at the Brite Winter Festival on the West Flats. They met back out, and they had a great First Date Part II! Then two days later, Francis asked Madeline to sub for his kickball team, the Tremont Pterodactyls! Francis found a theme and challenged Madeline to a March Madness Basketball Tournament bracket. We had to pick all our teams by shuffleboard games. Needless to say, Madeline won that year…and every year since! For our Texas and Ohio compromise, Francis has become a Texas A&M fan, and Madeline has adopted the Cleveland Browns (who won that trade?!). Since the beginning, we have loved traveling together. We have traveled across the United States, Canada, and Europe. We love seeing our large families in Texas and Ohio. We also enjoy visiting all our amazing friends, who live across the country (and world)!
After designing a ring inspired by a vintage 1900s ring in New Orleans, Francis took Madeline out to one of our favorite Ohio places, Harpersfield. At a beautiful vineyard on a beautiful fall Ohio day, Francis got down on one knee and proposed to Madeline! She immediately said yes!! And then they celebrated with wine from the surrounding vineyards! It was a blissful day!
The Finger Lakes area is New York's largest wine-producing region. Over 100 wineries and vineyards are around Seneca, Cayuga, Canandaigua, Keuka, Conesus, and Hemlock Lakes. Some Fun Facts: On the northern end of the Finger Lakes are also Seneca Falls, the birthplace of the women's suffrage movement; Waterloo, the birthplace of Memorial Day; and Palmyra, the birthplace of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). We know the Finger Lakes Region is far, but its beauty amazed us the first time we visited! We really hope you can join us! We can't wait to share the uniqueness of this region and the celebration of our wedding with you! Cheers! Sincerely, Madeline & Francis (aka Mad & Franki) #MadAboutFrank
