An already hectic weekend in May turned out to be even crazier than we imagined. Maddie was graduating from her Masters program at George Washington University, which brought family from both sides down to D.C. for the celebration. Rob seized the opportunity of so many important people together at once and turned graduation day into a Sunday we'll never forget. Following the graduation ceremony in the shadow of the Washington Monument, Maddie and Rob began posing for pictures. They stood arm in arm for a few standard shots before Rob's dramatic turn of events. He dropped to one knee and asked the all-important question, "Madeleine Claire Batlas, Will You Marry Me?" After nearly a minute of stunned silence, Maddie said yes and the rest is history.
