It’s about time.. Future Ford!

Dwayne and Maddie met in October of 2017 as they both attended University of Wisconsin- Whitewater and did Track & Field. They bumped into each other at practices and team events throughout the year. But, their journey as an official couple began on April 18th, 2018, after their first trip to Myrtle Beach for Spring Break with mutual friends. In August of 2020, they got their first apartment together. Their college years were filled with lots of fun memories and support from each other along the way. After many accomplishments in both sports and academics, Dwayne and Maddie graduated together in May of 2021 and decided to move back to Illinois. During this time, they found jobs and started working to build a mutual savings, and discussed what their future together would look like. In June of 2022, they excitedly found out they were going to be gaining a new addition to their family. On October 22 of that year (Maddie’s Birthday) they were overjoyed to find that their sweet baby was a girl! Wren Kathleen made her appearance into the world on February 16, 2023. Dwayne and Maddie have since established themselves in DeKalb and are currently evolving in their new roles as parents. They have been lucky to do life together in many seasons—navigating roles as college athletes & graduates, hard working employees, chasing new dreams and building a loving family unit. After 5.5 longggg years together, Dwayne decided it was time to begin another new chapter and add “married” to their list of milestones. On October 21, 2023 he proposed, and Maddie couldn’t say yes fast enough. They have much to look forward to as they continue to grow together, and are excited to celebrate with their family and friends come August!
