Let's Try This Again............ New Date, Same Wedding

Zach and I have made the difficult decision to postpone our wedding until 2021. We can't wait to see you in a year and celebrate enough for TWO weddings!

Maddie had her eyes set on Zach the first time she saw him - in October 2011. Though they technically didn't meet until October 2014.... In October 2011 Maddie was at a date auction at a UW fraternity, Delta Tau Delta. The fraternity brothers would come up with a fun date idea, pitch the idea in a room full of girls, and then the girls would participate in a live auction buying a date with the boy, with the money going towards a charity. Zach and his friend Brandon got up in front of everyone and danced to a song as part of their pitch. If you have seen Zach dance, you know that guy can move. Maddie turned to her best friend Molly sitting next to her and said "I want to meet THAT guy." Molly shared with Maddie that her and Zach went to high school together and were good friends! But, unfortunately, at that time Zach was seeing someone. And though it would have been very exciting to get into a bidding war with Zach's girlfriend, Maddie decided to move on.... Fast forward to October 2014. Zach had just gotten out of a relationship, and so had Maddie. It was a Wednesday night (big night on "The Ave" in the U District in Seattle with lots of deals at bars) and two days before Halloween. Maddie went out with some girlfriends that night and Zach went out with his fraternity brothers. Maddie was wearing one of those giant t-shirts with a bikini printed on the front and Zach was dressed up as "a Captain" (mostly normal clothes with a Captains hat). Maddie saw Zach at bar #1. She wanted to talk to him, but was too scared. Maddie saw Zach at bar #2. She wanted to talk to him, gathered all of her strength and confidence, and then he was nowhere to be seen. Maddie saw Zach at bar #3. She walked right up to him and said "Hi this is really weird, but I think you know my best friend Molly Artz?" Maddie and Zach have been together ever since!
