Question

What airport do I fly into?

Answer

We recommend flying into Fort Myers or Sarasota airports as they are only about an hour from the island. Another option is flying into Tampa. Tampa is typically slightly cheaper but it’s about 2 hours from the island.

Question

If there isn’t a bridge to get to the island, how do I get onto the island?

Answer

If you will be staying at Hideaway Bay Beach Club- which is where all planned activities and the weeding will be held- there is a free ferry that runs about every 2 hours to and from the island to the mainland and back. If you are choosing to rent a home on the island, you will need to make a reservation with Pirates Water Taxi at 941-270-0541. This option is not free and is $10 per person with a $20 minimum 1 way.

Question

What is the weather like in October?

Answer

The average highs are around 85 and the lows around 68. Please keep in mind these are just averages and it can get much warmer during the day and cooler at night.

Question

When will the Bride and Groom be on the island?

Answer

Right now the Bride and Groom plan on coming to the island the Tuesday before the wedding (April 20th) and leaving the island sometime in the afternoon on Sunday (April 25th).

Question

Do you have a gift registry?

Answer

Your presence with us as we take our vows is gift enough. Please bring yourself, dancing shoes, and nothing more. Should you absolutely feel the need, there will be a card box at the wedding.

Question

What is the dress code for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Semi-formal! This means no jeans but you do not need to be in a full suit or fancy dress. Think a nice summer dress for the lady’s and a button up/linen shirt and slacks for the guys. Shoes not necessary for the ceremony or reception but any shoe of your choice can be worn.

Question

How do I book a place to stay?

Answer

There are many options for booking your stay out on Little Gasparilla Island. The main being www.VRBO.com. Or www.tarponrealestate.com and look under vacation rentals for Little Gasparilla Island. If stated on the invitation then most definitely! If you are bringing someone please let us know who will be joining you.

Question

How soon should I book a place to stay?

Answer

April is slow season so things aren’t booked too far out in advanced but with COVID I do expect it to be a little busier. I do recommend booking as soon as you are financially ready as there is a chance the units could be booked the closer we get to the date.

Question

When do we need to RSVP by?

Answer

No later than April 1st, please.

Question

When should I look into flights?

Answer

The ideal time is 3-4 months out. We suggest shopping around through GoogleFlights, SkyScanner and local discount airlines (Southwest, SunCountry, etc) for best rate.

Question

What if my unit doesn’t come with a golf cart and we want one?

Answer

Some units come with golf carts and some do not. While a golf cart is not necessary out on the island, it can be fun to go and explore the island. If your unit does not come with a golf cart and you have your heart set on having one, there is a rental company out here on the island that will rent to you. His name is Derrick and his number is 941-697-3820. DISCLAIMER-He can be tough to reach and is not always great a returning phone calls.
