Question

What's the deal with transportation?

Answer

Shuttles to the ceremony will depart the Hyatt Place and the Four Seasons at 4:20pm sharp on Saturday, 9/21. Please gather in the lobby no later than 4:10pm to ensure an on-time departure. After dinner, a shuttle will take folks back to the hotels who wish to depart early. At the end of the night, shuttles will drop off at Owl Bar for the After Party, then continue on to drop off guests at the Four Seasons and Hyatt.

Question

Public health corner: Can I come if I'm under the weather?

Answer

Please, please, please: don't come if you're sick. There are 140 of our dearest people attending our wedding, and we take our responsibility to care for you very, very seriously. Bear in mind that while *you* might be perfectly fine if you fall ill, some of our other loved ones have risk factors that make respiratory infections especially dangerous for them. The best way we can keep everyone safe and healthy is to plead with you that you do not attend if you are under the weather in any way - even if you test negative on a COVID test. Note that while at-home COVID tests are useful, they are not perfect. And, there are more icky things floating around in the world than just COVID. Please, respect our friends and family by staying home if you feel ill. In case you need more motivation... please stay home if you're ill so you don't get *us* sick. We're going to Italy right after our wedding, and protecting us so we can enjoy it is the best gift you could possibly give us.

Question

Public Health Corner: Should I get myself a COVID vaccine?

Answer

As of September, 2024, new vaccines are available! Get one! It's great. As of August 12th, 2024, COVID cases are rising with 8+ variants in high levels of circulation. The best way to protect your health is to get vaccinated. The CDC estimates that updated vaccines will be available in September, but please bear in mind that it will take about 2 weeks after vaccination for maximum efficacy to be achieved! So, if you're waiting to get an updated vaccine, you should aim to get it by 9/6/24. If you have not received a vaccine recently and would like one, you can still get an "older" vaccine. Talk to your healthcare provider about whether that is the right option for you! PS: consider a flu shot, too. And, an RSV shot if you're over the age of 75 or are pregnant.

Question

PUBLIC HEALTH CORNER: Should I wear a mask?

Answer

As of August 12th, 2024, COVID cases are rising in the US with 8+ variants in high levels of circulation. Large gatherings, such as our wedding, carry inherent risk of getting sick. You are welcome to wear a mask if that added protection makes you feel more comfortable. A well-fitting KN95 mask is the best choice.

Question

Can I bring a "plus one"?

Answer

Unfortunately, our venue has strict capacity limits. As such, we will indicate how many seats are reserved in your honor on your RSVP card.

Question

Are my children invited?

Answer

We love your kids and you also deserve a night off! Adults only, please.

Question

How should I address you after you say "I do"?

Answer

We will not be changing our names after our getting married. Please, no "Mr. and Mrs."

Question

How should I get around the City?

Answer

Ubers and Lyfts are plentiful in pretty much all areas of the City. You might find extended wait times in more suburban areas in the North, but they're always available. Taxi cabs are less common and you won't be able to hail one on the street.

Question

What do I do if I suddenly can't come?

Answer

We hope this doesn't happen, but, if it does, please email us at hannahandmatt.cowleyre{at}gmail.com ASAP.

Question

Are there any rules for this wedding?

Answer

We're so glad you asked and appreciate a good rubric as much as Hannah does! To get an "A+" as a wedding guest, we ask that you: 1. Send your regards from afar if you're feeling under the weather (stay home!) 2. Refrain from discussing those pesky hot-button issues (no talking politics!) 3. Enjoy each other's company (be nice!) 4. Don't touch the art, and be nice to the museum staff (don't touch the art! don't spill wine on the art! please, for the love of god, don't touch the art!) 5. Have a really fun time (throw down!)
