For women, this means long dresses. Note, we recommend avoiding stilettos due to the terrain and possibly brining a second pair with you. For men, formal requires a suit and tie. Tuxedos are welcome as well.
Downtown Madrid is just a short drive away from the airport. We would recommend using one of the 4 main options: 1- Uber, Cabify (Uber's biggest competitor). Cost: 20-30€, approx. 2. Free Now (taxi hailing app; taxis are also considered public transportation are might be the most economical). Cost: 20-30€. 3. Metro: You can also take the Metro to Madrid, which is less than 10€ per ticket. 4. Car rental at the airport.
Madrid is a very walkable city and if you need to move across town to a different neighborhood, the Metro is a wonderful option - very clean, safe and efficient. Uber/Cabify are also great options! There are also 3 main ride sharing apps in the city - Uber, Cabify (Uber's biggest competitor), Free Now (taxi hailing app; taxis are also considered public transportation are might be the most economical).
We plan on getting to Madrid on Labor Day and spending the week with anyone that comes in early. We are also reserving our hotel block from September 4-10 so feel free to utilize that and please indicate on your RSVP when you will be coming in!
We are chartering buses to the ceremony from downtown Madrid (exact pickup/drop-off locations TBD). Since our venue is outside the city, Ubers and ride shares are not as reliable. Buses will also take everyone back to Madrid after the reception. The return shuttles are scheduled for 2am and 4am - be prepared to party all night! If you don't wish to use our provided transportation, you can schedule a private car service that will pick you up but that will need to be reserved in advance; ride shares like Uber may not pick up that far outside of the city. There is also plenty of parking at the venue if anyone is driving.
Madrid is a very warm and pleasant climate most of the year so early September should be after the intense summer heat.

While we don't have anything official planned, we do plan on doing something fun each night leading up to the wedding for people that come in early. Stay tuned for updates!
We are excited to have a worldly celebration with both our sides of the wedding. Anticipate plenty of merengue, salsa, and reggaeton!
Plus ones, if any, are indicated on your invitation.
