Answer

Please RSVP online by August 11, 2024. We encourage you to RSVP as soon as you know whether or not you will be able to join us!

Question

Do I have to RSVP?

Answer

Yes. An RSVP is absolutely required for everyone. The online RSVP questionnaire includes selecting your entree for the wedding reception dinner. RSVPs are essential in planning for ceremony seating and reception meals. If we do not get an RSVP back by the date which we have provided, it will be marked as a "No." Please note that we are only accepting RSVPs online from the RSVP page on our website. There will not be an RSVP card included in your invitation suite.

Question

What are the available accommodations for the weekend?

Answer

We have arranged for a small block of rooms to be available to our wedding guests at a discounted rate for the weekend at the Corque Hotel in Solvang. Details about booking a room in our block, as well as other suggestions for accommodations can be found on the Travel page of our website. We recommend booking as soon as possible to secure your accommodations, because September is a very popular time to visit the Santa Ynez Valley!

Question

Will the wedding take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will both take place outdoors. We are hoping for perfect weather on our wedding day, although late September in Santa Ynez can still be very warm.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We'd love to see our family and friends get dressed up for our big day! Dress code is cocktail attire. Ladies can wear floor-length, tea-length, or midi formal dresses. Gentlemen can wear a suit and tie. No jeans please. Please note the ceremony and cocktail hour will be held on grass lawn. If you are wearing heels, we recommend considering a block heel.

Question

What is the 27 Vines property like?

Answer

27 Vines is not only a wedding venue, but it is also the owners’ home. The venue space includes an unfenced pool, 2 casitas, 2 fire pits, a bocce ball court, a vineyard, a flower garden, and a barn. Please join us in being respectful of this beautiful space while we are there. Our guests are welcome to enjoy the gardens and vineyard, however, please do not remove flowers or foliage from the property. Please do not enter the home or swim in the pool. The event will end by 10:00PM, and there will be transportation provided. Check out our Schedule page for details regarding an after party!

Question

Will there be a bar?

Answer

Yes! Beer, wine, two specialty cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and some additional spirits are on us. We want everyone to have a blast at our wedding, but please drink responsibly and be respectful of the venue. There is an unfenced pool on the property. No one under the age of 21 is permitted to consume alcohol (on the bus to/from our wedding, on property during our wedding, or at the after-party).

Question

Answer

We will be supplying alcohol and have a bartending service that will be handling the beverages. Due to venue policy and regulations, you are not allowed to bring any other alcoholic beverages on the premises.

Question

Will there be a cigar smoking section?

Answer

27 Vines is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is permitted only in outdoor areas. We will not have a designated cigar smoking section, however, if you choose to smoke, please ensure proper and safe disposal of smoking refuse.

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

We are having an "unplugged" ceremony (no phones or cameras). The greatest gift you can give us is being fully present as we say "I do." We will ask you to silence your phone ringers. We have hired professionals to capture this moment for us, and we promise to share our photos as soon as we receive them. After the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos and videos as you'd like!

Question

What can we can expect from the Jewish wedding ceremony?

Answer

For those of you who have not previously attended a Jewish wedding ceremony, we have included some details below regarding elements of the ceremony and their meanings. Circling: In the modern Jewish tradition, doubled circling symbolizes our intention to orient our lives around our relationship and family, all while traveling on complementary yet independent paths. Under the Chuppah: Open on all sides, the chuppah (wedding canopy) represents the home that we have created—a sanctuary, but also a space welcoming to family and friends. Reading from the Ketubah: Our ketubah (wedding contract) consists of the traditional Aramaic text, which has bound Jewish brides and grooms since ancient times, as well as an English interpretation, which elaborates on our commitments to one another and to our families. Kiddushin (Ring Ceremony): We will exchange rings as a symbol of our commitment to one another. We will also recite the traditional Jewish marriage vow, which is translated as: “By this ring you are consecrated to me in accordance with the traditions of Moses and Israel.” Nissuin (Wedding Ceremony): The Nissuin consists of the sheva b’rachot, seven traditional marriage blessings. Rabbi Debi will chant these blessings, and we have asked seven members of our community to recite them in English. Pronouncement and the Breaking of the Glass: It is customary to end Jewish weddings with the breaking of a glass, which can serve as an implied prayer: “May your marriage last as long as it would take to put this glass back together.” After the glass is broken, guests are invited to say “Mazel Tov” (“congratulations”). Yihud: Immediately following the ceremony, we will spend a short period alone with one another to reflect in relative tranquility on the ceremony and to enjoy each other’s company for the first time as husband and wife. After some time together, we will rejoin you at the cocktail hour!
