Bernie is Liza’s best friend. They share a friendship and sisterhood for all their life growing up together to eventually joining the military together and living together in Illinois. It all started in kindergarten, when Bernie went up to Liza and asked her to be her friend. If you want to know Liza’s secrets or past, Bernie knows it all. They’d spend hours at each other’s homes growing up playing with dolls, singing karaoke, riding horses, cleaning yard, playing sports, and many more childhood memories. Bernie is Malie’s god mother and a wonderful aunty to Mali’e and Kalia.

Berny Juengst

Berny is Liza’s hula sister. When Liza joined the Hawaiian Polynesian Revue dance group in St. Louis, Berny welcomed her with open arms. The first thing Berny said was there is always drama at our shows but you will get used to it. They have shared so many dance shows together and even had to deal with their hula sister passing away last year. Berny is my mother’s twin from another mother (JulieAnn) and that is what Liza needed while away from her mom. Berny always thinks of everyone before herself and is the party/event planner of our group. They’ve shared many vacations and laughs together. Most recently, they celebrated at Maroma Beach in Mexico.

Sierra Lawrence

Sierra is Liza’s sister-in-law. I was relieved when I met Sierra because I knew no one would ever love my brother like this girl. She is my brother’s number one fan! Sierra is full of happiness and lives her life very simple (rarely uses make-up). She has natural beauty and I always admired her beautiful long hair. She gets so excited for the little things. We went to Atlanta and her eyes lite up when she saw Olive Garden and Church’s Chicken. She is a foodie like me. Sierra is my bonus sister that always calls to check up on me and the girls. I will always love her!

Betti Perdue

Betti is Liza’s military sister. I met Betti at Langley Air Force base in 2005. We instantly become more than friends but sisters. Betti is a go getter who always motivated me to look further and dream like a millionaire! She has champagne taste and I love it! Betti is my friend that I can call for great advise and she will tell you like it is. I remember being her personal trainer and had her running the tracks to help her pass the fitness tests in the Air Force. She is now a highly educated nurse (soon to be Dr.) and I am always so proud of her accomplishments. Betti took me on a dream vacation to Cancun Mexico and we surely lived it up- Tequila! I will always be grateful for her friendship.... military sisters for life!

Felicia Thurman

Felicia is Liza’s USTRANCOM military sister! During the 2017 Hurricane Season, Liza and Felicia worked side by side to move over 800 evacuees from the Caribbean to the United States to safety. This mission was one of the biggest and most successful patient movement missions ever. Felicia is a dedicated and high speed soldier who always amazed me with her work ethic. I’ve seen her bring a woobie( military poncho liner) to work and spend the night at work. From day one was me and Thomas’s biggest fan. She told me how great Thomas was for me before I even knew it. Felicia is an exceptional artist and home maker. She is a pumpkin-carving extraordinaire and makes the best fudge during the holidays. Felicia is that friend who you can always count on. I am truly thankful for her friendship.

Connie Haymore

Connie is Liza’s military friend that she has known for over 20 years. Our friendship goes back to our duty assignment together at Travis Air Force Base in California and now live about 20 minutes from each other in Virginia. Connie has been a constant friend who has always been there for me. She has a giving heart and gives so much to everyone around her. She donates her time and energy to shelters to help those in need. I was honored to be a bridesmaid in her wedding when she married the love of her life. Our children are months apart and are having the chance to grow up together.

Leti is Liza’s friend and hula sister. When I first met Leti, I realized how talented and crafty she was. She owns her own business and even makes beautiful jewelry. Leti has helped Thomas and I with the products we sold at our spa and even helped us with advertisements. She is well educated and has always encouraged me to do things outside my comfort zone. I am forever grateful for her assisting me and being a listening ear for her friend.

Mali’e Soza

Mali’e is Liza’s oldest daughter. Before Mali’e was even thought off, I was in high school looking at the Hawaii Magazine. The model who was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen was named Mali’e (meaning calm). I told myself if I ever had a daughter, her name would be Mali’e. Mali’e had these precious big eyes that were dreamy and bright. She has drive and determination. Mali’e is my superstar athlete who excels in volleyball and soccer but honestly would do well at whatever sport she chooses. She is my straight A student who I always expect the best from. She is my lefty and go getter! She amazes me everyday with her confidence and strong will to accomplish everything. She has shaped me into the mother I am today and I am blessed to have her as my daughter.

Kalia Soza

This is Liza’s baby girl! When this precious baby was born, I knew I had to find a name so special for her. Kalia is a Hawaiian name that means beautiful. Kalia was my little tail who followed me everywhere. She is a mama’s girl and when I am away on work trips, she always ask me when I am coming home. At her first soccer game, Kalia ran up the soccer field once and raised her hand and asked the coach to take her out for a water break. She has come along way from that first soccer game. She is now my superstar soccer player that has the heart of a lion. Kalia is hilarious and is always making us laugh. She never wants to disappoint anyone. Kalia has taught me how to love immensely and shown me God’s love through the eyes of a child. My baby girl Kalia is the true definition of beautiful.

Honey is Liza’s niece. This little girl has a smile that will light up any room. She certainly is a ray of sunshine. Honey is like the little mermaid who loves the water and is not afraid of anything. I remember taking her to the pool and holding her. She kept saying aunty let me go! She was like a little fish with scales not wanting to ever come out of the water. Ask her to dance Old Town Road, she got the moves! Honey with her witty personality and the comments that come out of her mouth will make you laugh. She calls me almost everyday and makes my day so much more brighter. I knew if I ever got married Honey would make the perfect flower girl!

Johnny is Thomas’s one and only blood brother. Johnny has always been my best friend, best man, and best everything. He is the person who knows me better than any other man alive. Johnny is the life of the party, the class comedian, and the entertainer extraordinaire. He has been bringing our family joy, laughter and entertainment laughs since he took his first steps. I have always been the protector of my baby brother and even today, I would gladly sacrifice my life so that he may enjoy a longer life. I am my brother’s keeper and he is my Best Man!

Greg - “AG” Gregory Farmer came into my life like a flood in 2013, and he has been raining down blessings upon me ever since. One of the most passionate, laser-focused, and yet comical brothers you will ever meet, Greg is who I call upon when I need a big brother. He is the backbone of my F4D team, and he was one of the founding members of the F4D training team. What I love most about Greg is that he is not afraid to be the unique human being God made him to be. My life has been changed for the better since the day our paths crossed. F4D Brothers for Life!

Tyron is Thomas’s friend. My good friend Ty came into my life while we were both serving in the Army while in Kuwait. We connected through our mutual Love for God and the sharing of our knowledge with others. Ty is also from Mississippi, it our biggest commonality is that we are both fathers of all girls... Girl Dads are the best! Ty is that brother who has a small select circle of friends, but he will go out of his way to help anyone in need. He is also one of my F4D brothers and his passion for mentoring and teaching are infectious. I’m thankful he considers me a friend and a brother.

Marvin “The Hulk” Price has been Thomas’s dear friend since 2012. Upon our first meeting I knew he was going to be a lifelong friend. He is my Alpha brother, he is a man of God, and my F4D brother. He is the other founding member of our F4D team, and I can always count on him to be that calming spirit in the middle of chaos. Marvin has so much style and fashion sense, and his smile and laughter will light up a room. It’s never a dull moment when we are together, and I am honored he will share in my big day.

Anthony Lancaster

Anthony is Thomas’s little brother. God blessed me with a little brother from another mother, although the word little just doesn’t seem to fit. Anthony is 6’7” in stature and his heart is even bigger than that. He is one of the most intelligent, caring, and nicest men you will ever meet, and his love for golf is even greater than mine. I always feel honored to fill the role of Big Brother when he calls on me for advice. I could not imagine having this day without Anthony being a part of it. I super proud to call him my little brother.

Corey Smalls

Corey Smalls is Thomas’s college friend, his Alpha brother, and his military battle buddy. We shared a bond in college by becoming the only two cadets to receive the highest rating from ROTC camp and get selected to become Medical Service Corps Officers. For the past 30 years, we have always confided in one another and watched each other’s backs just as true Soldiers do. Although our careers separated us geographically, our friendship has remained as close as ever. I am so grateful to have him by my side for this special day.

Wayney boy is Liza’s brother. Growing up I made sure, I protected Wayney from everyone. We were and still to this day very close. He was so cute with the biggest dimples. Wayney is my dad’s protege. He is a good hunter, fisherman, and if you ever need a sharp shooter this is your man. He always dreamed to serve his country and took advantage of his opportunity when he joined the Army as a infantryman. He says he is a good golfer but not sure if he can beat his soon to be brother-in-law Thomas. He has the dream job any golfer would want- which is taking care of Waikaloa Golf Course. He is my favorite brother and he is super confident, funny, and low key. Don’t ask him to dance! In all honesty, he is the best I brother a sister could ask for. I love him dearly!

JT Loper

Best Little Man

Johnny Thomas “JT” Loper is Thomas’s one and only nephew and also his namesake. He is a 11 year old superstar football and basketball player and an honor roll student. Although I was not blessed with a son of my own, JT is the son I always dreamed I would have. He has a very caring heart and wears his emotions on his sleeve just like me. He was born with all of the best qualities of my brother, but he just so happens to look a lot like me. I love my nephew as if he was my very own son and I know he loves his Uncle Tee. JT is my Best man and Best Little Gentleman today and everyday.

Rush is Liza’s cousin Chaz’s son. He loves to play Baseball and Jiu Jitsu. He is really good at both sports and comes from a line of great baseball players. His favorite food is saimin. Rush loves to play with his friends and he even is a pro nerf gun wars player.
