We’re getting married!

It is in those moments when you are not looking for love that it has a way of finding you. Liza and Thomas met in a very small town in the corn fields of Shiloh, Illinois at Scott Air Force Base in August 2016. Thomas was traveling to Scott Air Force base to fill in for a colleague at a medical conference. Liza was one of the organizers of the medical conference and had been living there for a year. On the first morning of the conference, the two passed each other,walking in opposite directions, and both greeted each other with a smile and a friendly good morning. Ten minutes later they passed each other again, and with the same smiles and salutations. Thomas said to himself, “If this lady walks past me one more time and smiles at me like that, I’m pulling her to the side.” As faith would have it, Liza walked past Thomas a third time and made eye contact with a smile, and Thomas quickly said, “Excuse me, can I talk to you for a minute?” They asked each other about their jobs and about their military service before ever asking each other’s names. So Liza took the initiative and asked, “what’s your name?” Without blinking an eye, Thomas said, “Oh, I’m Denzel Washington and it’s a pleasure to meet you!” Liza laughed with a glowing blush as she shook his hand and said, “Well Denzel, I’m J-Lo and it’s a pleasure to meet you!” They have been making their own beautiful movies, music, and memories ever since.
