Ricardo and Lindsay met in 2015 at a dance studio in Fairfield, CT. Ricardo was a junior in college, and Lindsay was working as a physical therapist and teaching at a university. After auditioning for a dance company in the same town, they became close friends. When Lindsay and Ricardo performed in gigs together starting in 2016, they were repeatedly asked how long they had been dating even though they were only friends. One night at a bar, Ricardo was emboldened by beer and professed his love for Lindsay. Ricardo knew she was the one person who made him happy and accepted him for the goofball that he is. Lindsay turned him down insisting that there were too many years and differences between them, yet Ricardo was still in hot pursuit. Eventually, Ricardo gave up and started dating a mutual friend while Lindsay endured the torturous (yet hilarious) online dating life. Two and a half years later when they were both single, they started talking as friends again. Ricardo was living in PR and Lindsay in CT, but they talked on the phone daily. Ricardo insisted that he was not interested in exploring a relationship. Four months later, Lindsay gave Ricardo an ultimatum- either start dating and continue to talk and text daily or remain as only friends and talk occasionally. Ricardo said he needed time to think about it…but then texted the next day to ask when Lindsay was coming to see him in Puerto Rico. Lindsay and Ricardo dated long distance for seven months with Lindsay traveling monthly before Lindsay moved to San Juan. As the hopeless romantic that he is, Ricardo proposed to Lindsay on a sunset cruise in what is considered to be one of the most romantic places in the world, Santorini, Greece. For the remainder of their lives, Ricardo will continue to be cheesy and overly affectionate, and Lindsay will continue to roll her eyes and act disgusted. Ricardo has promised to try to live healthfully until the age of eighty so Lindsay has a dancing partner until she is at least ninety-two.
