How We Met

Ryan and Brie kissing in a tree

Our story starts in the heart of Denver. Like most love stories, we started as friends while working together in a restaurant. It wasn't long until we began to grow fond of the qualities we saw in each other every day. We both admired how loyal the other person is and loved how they treated everyone with respect and friendliness. After months of being friends feelings started to develop and we decided to hangout outside of work and in groups. Ryan invited me over to have some HottyToddy's and play Spiderman! It was on that night that we shared our very first kiss and as they say, the rest is history...

Proposal

First comes baby, then comes marriage

Before Ryan and I met he had never been to the North East. It became my mission after we started dating to show him the best parts of Delaware, Philadelphia, New York City, and New Jersey; just kidding no one likes Jersey. One night over a few glasses of wine we discussed my love for Christmas in New York City; the twinkling lights over an ice rink, the magic, and of course the romance. Unbeknownst to me Ryan imprinted this to his memory. A few months later we booked a trip to see NYC in all of its festive glory. We stayed in a quaint apartment across from Central Park and indulged in fresh local sushi, delicious Chinese food, and some not so good pizza. One of my dearest friends recommended, Serafina's, for dinner. The menu offered so many amazing options, but I had said my perfect meal would have scallops, proscuitto, and risotto, which just happened to be the special that night! I savored every bite! We met my friends after dinner and decided to walk to another bar. We followed their lead through Rockefeller Center and Ryan took a pause which I thought strange because it had started to rain. He put his arm around me as we starred at the giant red ornaments and said, "I could do life with you forever." Next thing I knew he was down on one knee. What exactly was said is a blur to both of us but I know I yelled "YES!" The biggest surprise was that Ryan had secretly hired a photographer to capture this perfect moment. We took some amazing engagement photos to capture our love and Christmas in NYC. We ended the night with celebratory champagne. I truly believe our marriage will be as blissful as that night was!
