How We Met

...not at the grocery store.

Becky and David have been looking for each other for quite some time. They looked in the usual places… school, work, church, dog parks (Becky was never there), the grocery store, but the internet seemed to be the only common place they would come across each other. After trying online dating years earlier Becky decided to give it one last shot after a friend recommended Bumble. Even then David would never have found her if she didn’t find him first! He caught her eye and she noticed they had both attended Christian universities. After meeting on October 29, 2018 at Cheddar’s in Sherman and staying for over two hours talking they decided to go out again, then again, and again. David was introduced to Becky’s family in December when celebrating Becky’s birthday. Her nieces instantly loved him! Becky met David’s family later when celebrating Christmas. His family welcomed her and included her in all of the festivities. She made quite an impression on his Pappa with her concealed carry permit.

How He Proposed

Who gets engaged on a Tuesday? We do!

David wanted to surprise Becky with his proposal, but as it had become common for their weekends to be spent together this posed a challenge. To pull off a surprise David decided to bring dinner to her pottery studio one weekday evening near closing. On Tuesday, June 25th at 6:45 pm he called and asked if she wanted to meet him for dinner. She said yes, but mentioned how she just had her work clothes and also thought to herself how they had just seen each other a couple of days before. So he suggested he could bring dinner to her. Again, she said sure, but was thinking how by the time he picked up dinner and brought it to Sherman it would be getting late. Then he said, “What if I’m at the back door?” It took David a few minutes to get the food out of the car and come in so Becky was starting to doubt if he was actually there. But he was! He walked in with fajitas from Uncle Julio’s, their favorite restaurant, flowers, and chocolate covered strawberries he had made himself. When Becky saw this, she got butterflies thinking he was going to propose. However, instead of proposing… they ate dinner. After dinner and dessert Becky got up to use the restroom and when she came back to sit down a ring box was on the table in front of her. David quickly got down on one knee and proposed! Becky asked if he was sure, he said he was, and she said YES!
