It all started around the 4th of July 2018! Bored on a dating app that I had given up on I came across this guy who had the cutest smirk and most gorgeous eyes I’ve ever seen. His location said Crown Point so I swiped right. A little while later he messaged me saying hi. I then noticed his location was in Wisconsin. I thought I must’ve read his profile wrong. Almost gave him the boot because, was I really about to try a long distance relationship? But he was so cute and so nice I said F it and if it was meant to be, it would be. So we got to talking and he informed me he does live in Crown Point, he was just visiting family for the holiday. I was SO relieved! We decided to meet up when he got home from his trip. We went to Zig-E’s Funland for some mini golf. After I kicked his butt (years later found out he let me win), we decided to hop across the street through a construction site to a place ironically called Michaels for a few drinks. I wish I could say it was love at first site but we’d have to wait until the second date featuring house hunting (for him) and a cute first kiss off the back deck of some random persons yard for me to know this guy might be the one. Fast forward to 4th of July weekend 4 years later he planned for us to go to Amnicon Falls national park. We walked the trails and then went off to play in the rocks and streams. He picked an area where nobody was and we sat on a rock. He started saying a few sweet things and then got down on one knee. It was so romantic and such a beautiful scenery. In between the first date and the proposal we picked up a few stragglers. One’s name is Archie and he’s the best puppy in the entire world and gets along so well with the second straggler, her name is Cadence. Cadence has been such a blessing. She’s taught us so much about each other. She’s made us closer than ever before and we are so thankful God put her in our lives and chose us to be her parents. That’s the story of the future Mr. and Mrs. Michael Olaf! ❤️
