Maid of Honor
Laura Vizy and I have known each other since grad school, and she is like a sister to me. She and I were also roommates for a couple of years, and she has been there through so many of life's ups and downs. She has helped me navigate moves and new jobs all while celebrating all of the little things in life along the way. She is loyal, kind, passionate, and makes everyone around her feel special and loved. I don’t know what I would do without her, and I am so blessed to have her standing by my side on my wedding day!
Bridesmaid
Jamie Ranck and I met through our girls Bible study and quickly became best friends. We can have the best time together regardless of what we are doing (random shopping trips, apple picking, tennis, the list goes on!) I wouldn't trade our countless dinner dates and her amazing advice for anything. She is faithful, brave, and I love her adventurous spirit and up-for-anything attitude. She has the sweetest soul and a heart of gold!
Bridesmaid
Stephanie Wilke and I have been best friends since middle school - we have truly grown up together! She was also my very first friend to love country line dancing almost as much as I do and go dancing weekly with me for months on end. I admire the way she has always put God first in her life, throughout high school, college, and her marriage. She is ambitious, intelligent, and reliable and has stayed that way throughout our entire friendship.
Bridesmaid
Sam Pierre is not only one of my best friends, but also my cousin! I knew less than 5 people in northern VA when I moved there, and knowing that I could count on her for anything meant the world to me. She is an epic trip planner (I caught the travel bug from her years ago) and makes the most of every moment and conversation. She is intentional, trustworthy, and puts others before herself. We are bonded for life whether she likes it or not!!
Bridesmaid
Kristen McGill and I met through our girl's Bible study. Our shared love of country music and concerts brought us together initially, and our friendship only grew from there. She goes out of her way to make everyone in the room feel welcomed, and her fun loving spirit matched with her deep care for others make her an absolute gem of a person. Fun fact: she was the one who secretly recorded Gordon's proposal!
Bridesmaid
Melissa Gallagher has been one of my best friends since high school. I can truly say her love of adventure brought me out of my shell, from starting a brand new sport my senior year (runner turned cheerleader) to attempting a black diamond my second time skiing. No matter how busy we are or how many states apart we are, she is cheering me on. She is gentle, compassionate, and humble, and I am so grateful for her!
Bridesmaid
Heather Shrewsbury and I have been friends since undergrad and have so many amazing memories together. She and her family have welcomed me on holidays when I was far away from home, and her devotion to her family, friends, and patients is inspiring. We have had so much fun over the years going to JMU football games, bonding over grad school, and visiting each other in our different cities. She is selfless, humble, and her southern hospitality is top notch!
Best Man
John Spearin has been my Wingman throughout all of life. He's always had my back, whether it be talking through some of life's biggest hurdles, playing what was honestly about 48 hours (I kid you not...) of video games non-stop during our own family National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, or coming out for a good Chargers-Seahawks game. Even though life has taken us in many different directions, the second we hop on a phone call it's like no time has passed at all. It's only fitting that the Wingman of my life be by my side as my Best Man.
Groomsman
I met Will Pope while attending Plymouth Haven Baptist Church in high school and our friendship only got better when he also began attending the same school! From pulling shenanigans, which included a cow tongue on our Youth Pastor Matt, filming two critically acclaimed (obviously) Star Wars films together to even being roommates in college (the shenanigans as roommates for National Security reasons will be omitted from this paragraph...)
Groomsman
Lee Taylor is basically my Work Wife...or I'm his Work Wife? I'm not really sure how the dynamic works but we met at the Foreign Service Institute during our training for the Diplomatic Security Service. From there we were both sent to the Los Angeles Field Office where we've conducted multiple operations together in the field as agents and as two dog dads. There are very few people in this world that I would trust my life to and Lee, undoubtedly, will always be one of them.
Groomsman
I met Andres Reyes during my time in the Washington D.C. area as we both joined a contracting assignment within the Department of Homeland Security. We were assigned to the same team, and then subsequently separated because we were having, and I quote, "Too much fun..." as leadership put it. Well its an honor to be having "Too much fun" with him further down the road and I couldn't imagine my wedding without him there.
Groomsman
I met Kai Hall over what some would call a slightly abusive introduction during our time in flight school. I was having a perfectly normal conversation with a group of fellow students about the concerns I had about the breathing apparatus strapped to my face in the cockpit and how it gave me these weird, dried up spit stains around my mouth (Like I said, perfectly normal conversation). Anyways, Kai decided to insert himself into the conversation with this gem: the reason for this was not the breathing mask itself but the fact that I was actually "Genetically Inferior." Obviously, we've been friends ever since.
Groomsman
Nick Aufderheide and I met during the mutual trials and tribulations of flight school in Pensacola, Florida when we both failed the same Aerodynamics exam (Don't worry...we got better). We then thought it would be a stellar idea to combine our mutual suffering and become roommates until we graduated Primary. During this time, I had the amazing fortune of playing the role of Dupree (aka third wheel) to Nick and his now wife, Paige. Regardless of where the Marine Corps took us in our careers, as Nick went on to train and fly Helos, it's never come in the way of our friendship and with the addition of Leah...double dates!
Groomsman
Andrew Mackenzie and I became friends a long, long time ago in a school system far, far away in sunny Southern California. Andrew was responsible for introducing Epic Duels, a classic Star Wars board game for the uncultured around here, to me during our elementary school years. Coming from living in Australia for a time, he also tried to introduce me to Rugby and some weird version of baseball called Cricket, but honestly, I still couldn't tell you what is happening at any given point during the game. Regardless, I couldn't have asked for a better friend to grow up with.
