Maid of Honor
In 2001 Melissa and Lea sat next to each other in their high school Spanish class and as they say, the rest is history. They were tennis partners in high school and junior college. They chose to go to separate four-year colleges, but very frequently made the drive up/down the coast to visit each other whenever possible. They then lived together in Sacramento and later in San Diego for a total of 7 years. They have also traveled to many states and countries together, always creating amazing memories and having a ridiculous amount of fun along the way. Naturally, Melissa was the first person to meet and approve of Walt a few short weeks into their relationship. Melissa and Walt became fast friends and during the time of Covid restrictions the three spent a considerable amount of time together. When Walt and Lea moved in together, Melissa made the short move downstairs into her own apartment. So, Walt and Lea not only consider Melissa to be their neighbor, but their chosen sister. For this reason they couldn't be happier to have Melissa stand by their sides on one of the most important days of their lives.
Best Man
Tom and Walt go a ways back, as Tom is Walt's younger brother. They are very different people but are extremely close. They got their start with backyard baseball games growing up to playing together in little league. They're both depressed Mets and Jets fans and on doctors orders to qualm their sadness in golf and fine whiskey. Tom and Lea first met when he and their dad, Wally, flew out to San Diego for a Padres/Mets series. After sharing many baseball games and drinks together they all became family. Walt was quite honored to join Tom by his side on his wedding day and now Walt and Lea couldn't be happier to have Tom stand up with them in honor of their big day.
