Lake Louise is famous for a reason with such an amazing view. Please note that parking can be extremely difficult and may have a fee (season dependent). We recommend taking Roam from downtown Banff as an alternative. If the weather permits, there may be a chance they open up kayaking the lake for the season.
A 2 mile hike up (4mi round trip) from Lake Louise there is a lovely tea house that is great to visit with a moderate difficulty level. If you continue from there you can hike to the Little or Big Beehives which have a great views. These hikes are about 6 miles roundtrip and are more challenging.
Moraine Lake can only be reached by shuttles at this point in time. If you wish to visit please make sure to reserve tickets on Parks Canada Shuttle or alternative options. If you have the time, it is absolutely stunning and worth the visit. Bring a snack and hang out or do a short shore hike (about 1.8 miles and flat).
Peyto Lake has a great viewpoint a short distance from the parking lot (about 1 mile roundtrip). We recommend hiking further up the trail past the viewpoint and the coach parking to a blue "A Step Beyond" sign and turn right into the smaller unmarked trails. Alltrails also has a panorama view listed.
If you have a car and want views with minimal effort driving Icefields Parkway provides plenty of gorgeous scenery and lookout points.
The gondola brings you to the top of Sulfur Mountain and provides great views of the town. There is a short walk on the boardwalk (at the top of the gondola) that has even better views. There are also two restaurants, a coffee house, and bathrooms at the top. We recommend reservations if you plan to dine.
Walk the street and pop in the shops or restaurants/bars. Our favorite stops are Park Distillery, High Rollers, The Grizzly House, and Three Bears Brewery.
Buy a day pass and enjoy some views and some warm water.
Before the wedding or anytime you are in Banff stop by the Fairmont. The grounds are absolutely stunning and they have plenty of activities such as golfing, fondue at the Waldhaus Restaurant, tea time or cocktails at the Rundel bar, or just strolling around and hitting Bow Falls.
