Scott's Side of Philly
Race up the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum, snap at photo at the Rocky Statue, or go for a bike ride along Boat House Row behind the museum. There's a bike rental, free parking lot, and stand to grab food and drinks behind the museum, along Kelly Drive. (Sometimes it takes 30 minutes to get back to Villanova. Sometimes it takes an hour with traffic. Give yourself time!)
Lauren's Side of Philly
Explore Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell in Old City! Throw pennies at Ben Franklin's grave or tour the Betsy Ross House. For lunch, grab a Philly cheesesteak on Market Street or a sit down lunch at Talula's Garden in Washington Square. (Allow 1 hour to get back to Villanova, just in case there's traffic!)
The Burbs
If you don't have a ton of time to explore Philly, we suggest walking around Villanova's campus (there is a home football game in the afternoon) or a quick shopping trip to Suburban Square in Ardmore (about 10 minutes from the church and hotel). Grab brunch at White Dog Cafe, Nudies in Wayne, Terrain Cafe in Devon, or Maman in Suburban Square.
Get Some Fresh Air
Check out the Pennsylvania fall foliage by hiking in Wissahickon Valley Park. We recommend the Forbidden Drive trail and Valley Green Inn for an early lunch. You can also walk around Valley Forge National Park for some great fall views and a bit of history.
