If you have an extra day or two, we recommend checking out Forest Park if the weather is nice. There are some great (free!) museums. City Museum is very fun and more of an interactive art exhibit than a museum. If you have an extra night, check out a show at the Fabulous Fox or the symphony! There also a ton of bars with live music, if that's more your speed.
The dress code is formal. For ladies, if you'd like to bust out your favorite lehenga or sari for the the Hindu ceremony or the whole day, please do! If you'd prefer to wear a cocktail dress or gown, go for it! For men, formal Indian attire or a western suit would be appropriate! No tuxes required (even the groom won't be in one!).
We know a lot of our guests may have never been to an Indian wedding ceremony! There will be a central dais called a "mandap" where the bride and groom will be seated. A Hindu priest will perform a wedding ceremony that involves prayers, blessings from those present, and small sacrifices into a (fire code compliant) fire. This will last approximately 30-45 minutes. Afterwards, there will be time for tea, snacks, and mingling.
The Hindu ceremony will be followed by light refreshments. The American ceremony will be followed by cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing!
Yes, we will have a band playing only the classics: Bach, Mozart, and Metallica.
No, but there will be plenty of dessert!
While we love your kids, we are only able to accommodate our nieces and nephew at this time. Your invitation should be clear, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out!
