We're unionizing!

Lauren and Rahul met in Las Vegas during their trauma surgery fellowship. They became fast friends and eventually grew into more. Strangely enough, this is not the first time their paths crossed. They lived in Pittsburgh at the same time during college, and only a few blocks away from each other during residency. Despite having mutual friends, they didn't meet until fellowship orientation years later.

On the Fourth of July, they planned to have a picnic and watch fireworks in a park overlooking the Las Vegas skyline. Rahul had an ulterior motive! Lauren got home starving after operating all day, and was a little disappointed that the sandwiches were slightly delayed. She was also suspicious that Rahul was on time, wearing a collared shirt, and that he was so excited about fireworks despite having never mentioned them before. It was all worth it when Rahul asked her to marry him. She waited a polite five minutes before starting on the turkey club.
