We love our friends and family and understand that weddings are often a big event for everyone to gather together to share in the joy and party! However, we simply couldn't wait to officially commit to one another and are choosing to have a small, private ceremony at our favorite place in Wisconsin - our lovely home in Omro.
We are keeping things simple and including the four people who made this whole thing possible - our parents! Patty Seif and Joan Stingl are acting as our official witnesses and will be signing our license as such. Jim Seif and Mike Stingl will be the proud papas in attendance. All three kitties - Rogue, Remy, and Roux - are pulling double duty as both bridesmaids and groomsmen, but they will likely be asleep on the job and watch from the window.
Day of the ceremony, we will be going to dinner with our parents to celebrate after sharing our vows. We are hoping to be able to have something small at a later date. Because our friends and family are in Philadelphia and Wisconsin (and all over the country and globe, for that matter!) we realized trying to plan one big event was not feasible to include everyone who means so much to us. We will certainly announce any future plans as they develop!
After 38 years of being Lauren Elizabeth Seif, I have chosen to remain as such. I did consider becoming Lauren Elizabeth Seif Stingl (or Stingl Seif) because.... LESS is more! However, no one likes paperwork. As far as socially, we are happy to be addressed as Mr. & Mrs. Stingl, or Mr. Stingl & Ms./Mrs. Seif, or even Mr. & Mrs. Seif if you're feeling particularly progressive.
We are thrilled to be working with HZL Photography based in Oshkosh. As soon as we have photos back from our photographer, they will be uploaded here! Check our gallery section for updates! They will be uploaded to the gallery as we receive them. In the meantime, please enjoy the gallery that shows some highlights of our journey thus far, including our engagement weekend!
Absolutely! It was great to enjoy some songs that were special to us and help set the tone of celebration and love while we exchanged our vows and spent time with our parents taking photos. Short answer? No one! More accurate answer? We are! Wisconsin is one of 10 states that allows a couple to self-solemnize their union (Pennsylvania also happens to be one of them!). So, in the excellent Quaker tradition, we will be declaring themselves married and our Mothers, Patty & Joan, will sign their license with them as witnesses. They will exchange vows and have also opted to incorporate a sand unity ceremony - showing that their lives, like the many grains of colored sand, are forever inextricably joined together.
