Best Man
You can’t pick your family, but Cameron lucked out with Kel as his brother and best friend. Their classic older brother, younger brother dynamic led to plenty of fights over sports, video games, and chores as kids. As the years passed they both matured a bit (some would say Kel’s wife Kenzie had something to do with that) and ended up in Northern California. They’ve shared so many memories in the Bay, from Bottlerock weekends, to wine tastings, and Niners games- where Kel holds an undefeated record at Levi’s Stadium. Cam had the honor of being Kel’s best man years ago, and the little guy gets to return the favor this time around.
Maid of Honor
Megan, also known as “Mitch,” and Lauren met in their freshman year of high school at Xavier where they first found their love of themed parties. This of course continued throughout college at the University of Arizona where Mitch became the mastermind and the wit behind several of the costumes and college nonsense. They became college roommates and against all odds stayed best friends. After college, Megan moved to LA which led to several trips back and forth, traveling to various cities and states together celebrating friendships, birthdays, weddings, and bachelorettes, the good times just kept coming. The two were often found together at Little Woody or JT’s but as we have “matured” can be found with a glass of wine and their dogs, Margaux and Billie.
Groomsman
Once upon a time, Cameron had the unenviable task of trying to impress the girlfriend’s brother, but all it took was sweating out a Suns win together for the guys to become fast friends. Not long after, singing a My Chemical Romance song with shirts off in an Uber is what sealed the deal. Cam can’t wait to add another brother to the family. They oddly share similar dance moves and style- who wore it better?
Matron of Honor
Kiri, “KO”, transferred to Xavier her senior year of high school (every 17 year olds worst nightmare) and Lauren invited Kiri to come sit with her and her theme-loving friends. And after much convincing, she stayed and didn’t run away immediately. Quickly thereafter, sleepovers, car rides with music blasting became a regular thing. Kiri unfortunately went to Arizona State and became a Sun Devil… but fortunately for Lauren, Kiri stayed in Phoenix/Scottsdale/Tempe (city limits can be argued) and became Lauren’s post college sidekick. Their “frates” (friend dates) could turn into nights out in Old Town or thinking they were handywomen and unsuccessfully trying to hang a ceiling fan. Over the years their friendship has continued to be unbreakable and Lauren got to help celebrate as Kiri’s Maid of Honor in her wedding last April!
Groomsman
I dare you to try and challenge the rim against these two in 4th grade hoops. Cam and Matt were OG Community 3 Red Mountain Ranch Elementary Challengers, and big guy teammates in youth basketball. Even after Matt moved away to Texas in elementary school, Cam would visit for summers and they would play video games into the wee hours of the morning. Matt & Cam would reunite as roommates at ASU and have never looked back. Matt, AKA the “Spaghetti Bandit”, has been by Cam’s side for some of the funniest moments in life.
Bridesmaid
“Cades”, “Sissy”. Cady is the definition of a bonus sister. Cameron’s sister, Cady, is not just Lauren’s Sister in Law, but a true friend and sister. Cady is a travel nurse and has been all over the country. Cameron and Lauren decided to visit Cady in New York just after they started dating (yes, the trip that Lauren FINALLY decided she loved Cameron). From cartwheels in the streets of New York, hunting down dive bars on the East side, and screaming (definitely not singing) karaoke, Lauren also fell in love with Cady on that trip. Since then, more trips, football games, and family holidays screaming (again not singing) Taylor Swift became a regular thing. Lauren told all her “friends” that Cady is “just like one of us” and is so happy to have the best bonus sissy.
Groomsman
Joe and Cam met at Seattle Reign FC after Cam realized Joe’s resume was in fact, real #LetItReign. Joe was instrumental in connecting Cam to Lauren, just as he has been instrumental in talking Cam through the ups and downs of other relationships. Joe also helped open the door for Cam’s career at the Niners (if you’re sensing a theme, you would be correct) and they’ve tried to hit the golf course as much as possible ever since. If you play golf with him on the wedding weekend, please don’t let him hustle you as anything more than a 6.
Bridesmaid
Stephanie, “Steph”, or “SKB-is-me”, is another childhood friend of Lauren’s. They met way back when in Sunday School and grew up having next-level sleepovers as their parents had date nights together. These sleepovers included late night Sims (recreating our favorite celebrities' lives), music video “re-enactments”, funfetti cupcakes, photo shoots, gossip magazines, and shopping for the best Chanel knockoffs. Steph too went to Xavier, but was a year ahead of Lauren, and has been her role model for years. Stephanie then went to Pepperdine, then moved about for several years and just moved home. Themed parties (a theme) have continued, and their friendship picked up like no time had passed.
Groomsman
Friends since 1st grade, Cory is the big brother that Cam never had. Despite Cam beating Cory out for 6th grade Student of the Year, Cory took the L in stride and remained friends with Cam even after leaving AZ for college. Cory then took his talents to New Orleans for grad school, and started a tradition of regular golf trips as a way to keep seeing each other. Cory has always been there to talk about whatever life has thrown their way, a heated debate about a gimme 5 footer, and everything in between. Cory and Cam are most often seen together dominating bar trivia.
Bridesmaid
Val was Lauren’s first “new” friend in middle school. They sat by each other in computer class and became fast friends. Lauren and Val were reunited down in Tucson at the U of A Kappa house and many more memories were about to be made! Valerie and Lauren lived together with Harriet after college. Cue the evening giggles, dance parties, concerts, again too many Vegas trips, and “learning how to be adult” jobs. Valerie followed her dream to live in the South and moved to Charlotte the same time Lauren was completing her rotations in Georgia. Val Gal and Lauren then spent weekends back and forth in Charlotte and Atlanta exploring their new cities. Val then found her Southern gentleman and Lauren stood by her side at their wedding in May, 2022. Holiday visits, ‘tini time, and big kid sleepovers continue to fuel the long distance friendship.
Groomsman
Steve and Cameron technically met in middle school as enemies during WHAM basketball games on the mean streets of Mesa. They later reconnected at Red Mountain High School in Block English/History class and Steve became Cameron’s go-to friend for any and all questions (definitely his loss). They survived a cockroach-infested apartment at ASU, a ton of Devils losses, and many miles in between. Cam didn’t know that when he gained Steve as a friend, he also gained the Knudsen clan as a second family, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Bridesmaid
Dana, “D”, “Baby D”, and Lauren met on a double date back with their high school boyfriends (hey, they were good for something!). Lauren and Dana became fast friends, dirty rushing may have been involved, but Kappa Kappa Gamma was the only answer. From Dana’s first day as a Kappa this friendship took off, and Lauren showed Dana the importance of college, leadership, school work, and frat parties. Dana even fully embraced the large ironic costumes. After college, Dana got a job up in Seattle, where Lauren decided to live for a summer to complete another rotation. Dana was the ultimate Seattle tour guide and taught Lauren the ropes, including the free samples at Pike Place and the best happy hour in Belltown. As Dana continued to move around with work, their friendship continued despite the miles between them. Lauren stood by Dana as she married the mullet man of her dreams in May, 2022.
Groomsman
When Corey tried to be friends with Cameron in Kindergarten, Cam handed the note to the bus driver. Despite that adversity, the two have been inseparable ever since. From youth basketball teams, to ballboys for the Phoenix Suns, college roommates at ASU, and living in Seattle, they’ve created a lifelong bond as friends. Corey’s patience, not only with Cameron but in life, is truly one of his most admirable qualities, and has always served as a needed counterbalance to Cam. Cameron had the honor of being Corey’s Best Man (more than a decade ago!) and can’t wait for Corey to stand by his side. They dream of being able to attend the Suns Championship Parade together one day.
Bridesmaid
Harriet, “Bear”, and Lauren met in college at the U of A through Kappa Kappa Gamma. If you don’t know Harriet, she is the poster sorority girl (kidding). From sorority sisters to post-college roommates, Lauren and Harriet have become quite close. Late night laughs, hundreds of spin classes, too many trips to Vegas, and the classic home cooked meal of chicken sausage, broccoli and cheap wine. Harriet moved to San Francisco, fell in love with her childhood sweetheart, and then moved even further to London. Thank goodness for FaceTime, group texts and Instagram memes, as the laughs are still shared with hundreds of miles in between.
Groomsman
Jose quickly became Cameron’s first new friend at the 49ers, and someone that Cam emulated from a career perspective. They became lifelong friends shortly after that, and spent so many nights grabbing happy hour at Mina trying to pave their way through the sports industry. Jose & Cam truly bring out the best in one another, especially when Jose’s wife, Alexis, accompanies them at a dive bar (Go Devils). Cam had the honor of standing as a groomsman for their wedding and couldn’t picture his own without Jose doing the same #ScooterGangForever.
Bridesmaid
Jess was Lauren’s saving grace in college, Kappa, and all around life. They were set up for friendship success by Jess’ cousin before sorority recruitment. Jess told Lauren that she would wear a “large bow” to stand out (and that bow was no smaller than 6 inches tall), the most classic Jessica. Jess took Lauren to her first frat parties, inducted her into Kappa leadership, and most importantly, that theme parties are for large ironic costumes, not skimpy dresses. Jess and Lauren’s friendship also survived long distance (via more LA trips) until Jess moved home and returned to her proper job as “Mom”. Lauren is honored to have stood up with Jess on her wedding day and is excited for her to be a part of her wedding. Since college, Jessica has always found a way to help, including helping to plan this whole wedding.
Groomsman
Despite his last name, and Lauren’s position at the top of her swing, Mark does not have a relation to the Bride’s family. “Coach” has been giving Cameron swing advice since their days in junior high as Shepherd Stallions. Unfortunately, Cam still can’t turn his wrists over, and remains one of Coach Mueller’s project players. Mark and Cam used to sneak out of 6th hour to grab a pizza slice at Barro’s, and eventually that turned into ordering Barro’s to the KB for NFL Sundays. Many rounds at Alta Mesa, and many beers on the 19th hole, have kept these guys together. And as he’ll tell you, always grind on your short game #LopesUp.
Bridesmaid
Audrey and Lauren have been “day one homies'' as they met in Kindergarten and were childhood friends. They would play hours upon hours of Barbie’s (all while listening to the latest punk rock CDs, and Britney of course). Audrey and Lauren were reunited once they went to college on Bid Day at Kappa Kappa Gamma and the college “adult relationship” began. Lauren and Audrey, just like in childhood, were constantly getting involved in extracurricular activities. They were in several clubs at the U of A together including the Bobcats Senior Honorary which enhanced their love for Jager & the U of A. After what seemed like eternity in LA, and many trips back and forth to Santa Monica & Hermosa, Audrey moved home to Phoenix and Lauren is thrilled to have her back.
Groomsman
Don’t let it go to his head, but Bennett is legitimately the funniest person Cam has ever met. To the point where Cam will fully admit that this guy has made him funnier, and probably helped him land Lauren. Cam and Bennett became friends at the Niners even though Cam didn’t dress up for Bennett’s first day. Bennett’s love for golf, his boys, and situational awareness, has led to countless laughs and memories. After the Niners win the Super Bowl, please request a “from here” beer on Bennett.
Bridesmaid
Mariah, “M”, and Lauren also met in high school on the grounds of Xavier. Their relationship started as many do in high school, over liking the same boy. Needless to say, gone goes said boy and a life lasting relationship exploded. Mariah has always been the gal with the camera (credit to her for our engagement photos!!). Mariah, also a fellow Wildcat, was able to develop the bond of Dirtbag’s with Lauren. Mariah and Lauren were the closest things to roommates, but not roommates, living a couple doors down in the same apartment complex, which led to several nights making dinner, wine and puzzles, nights out, nights in, puppy cuddles, and Lauren’s go-to errand buddy.
Groomsman
As Bryan once put it, “Cameron became such great friends with Bryan that Cam decided to move back to AZ.” Upon meeting Bryan, Cam quickly realized that it may be impossible to find a more solid, and loyal dude out there. Bryan and Cam once again became “roommates” in a hybrid-remote work era that allowed Cam the best of both worlds. Cameron recently stood at Bryan’s wedding where he briefly went viral on Tik-Tok. Lauren and Cam have gotten to share many Bay Area weekends, Napa wine tastings, and Niners wins, with Bryan and his wife Hillary. We’ll see you all at the Super Bowl party.
Bridesmaid
“Schmay”, “Schmayley”, and Lauren also became friends at the U of A. A friendship product of swapping schools and best friends (Hayley became friends with Lauren’s grade school best friends in high school and Lauren became best friends with Hayley’s grade school friends in high school) which all intersected in Tucson. Hayley and Lauren’s friendship strengthened while trying to survive Pilates classes but the two opted for happy hour instead. Hayley is your go-to gal for anything shopping, from TJ Maxx and Last Chance, to Neiman Marcus, she’s down. Hayley and Lauren get to enjoy the bride process together as Hayley is getting married just two weeks later! Sister brides.
